This was built in the 16th century and was held by Ran Singh Panwar who joined the Jats in their revolt against Mughal Empire. He was attacked by Raja Bishen Singh of Amber and Prince Bidar Bhakt(grandson of Aurangzeb). They snatched the fort from him. Later Maha Singh Jat took control of this Fort. When the kingdom of Bharatpur was formed it became a part of it. This fort being situated on the border of Bharatpur, the fort of Mahuva was very important for the Jaipur state and Bharatpur state. Where the front of Mahuwa fortress had to take care of the attack from Bharatpur. Later when Bharatpur collapsed the control of this fort was taken by Jaipur state. After that Thakur Lal Singh chauhan of chauhan Rampura ( The grandson of Raja Ramdas chauhan of Nimrana in Alwar) he was granted the Mahwah fort in 1854 vs, and estate of Palanheda by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II of Amber (Jaipur). Along with 12 kmsq of land, an income of 11300 Rs and 5 field guns in 1860. once the Jaipur court was going for a ride and Ganga bath.
