Pushkar Lake or Pushkar Sarovar (Sanskrit:à€Șà„à€·à„à€•à€°-à€žà€°à„‹à€”à€°) is located in the town of Pushkarin Ajmer district of the Rajasthan state of western India. Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus. The Hindu scriptures describe it as "Tirtha-Raj" – the king of pilgrimage sites related to a water-body and relate it to the mythology of the creator-god Brahma, whosemost prominent temple stands in Pushkar. The Pushkar Lake finds mention on coins as early as the 4th century BC. Quick facts: Basin countries, Settlements
Pushkar Lake is surrounded by 52 bathingghats (a series of steps leading to the lake), where pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath, especially around Kartik Poornima (October–November) when thePushkar Fair is held. A dip in the sacred lake is believed to cleanse sins and cure skin diseases. Over 500 Hindu temples are situated around the lake precincts. Tourism and deforestation in the surroundings have taken a heavy toll on the lake, adversely affecting its water quality, reducing the water levels and destroying the fish population. As part of conservation measures, the government is undertaking de-silting, de-weeding, water treatment, and afforestation as well as mass awareness programme.

Pushkar is a nice tourist place to enjoy. Here you can have camel ride, gypse and quad bike. You need to book camel chariot to go to the desert. They will charge too much you need to bargain a lot whatever ride you take. They ask for very high price just negotiate as much as you can and enjoy the place. We basically went in the evening. The place is very beautiful in the evening. You can have sunset view and really the desert looks very nice in the evening. You can go any time no worry. We were there in the summer so we went in the evening. You can take local transport from Ajmer to go Pushkar.

Camel ride at dune If you have love for natural beauty of earth you have to take this desert safari once. You can take it over the camel. The sand dunes, the land formation, the ups and down over the sand will leave you messmarised. It’s a must do in pushker, avoid very old age people and too young kids. The experience is one of its kind. Its preferable to visit two hours before the sunset. If you are visiting pushkar it is a must have experience.

Pushkar Safari and Camp

Pushkar Safari and Camp is a great place to experience the desert culture of Rajasthan. The camp is located just outside of Pushkar, and it offers a variety of activities, including camel safaris, desert hikes, and cultural performances.

The camp is set up in a traditional Rajasthani style, with tents made of mud and straw. The tents are spacious and comfortable, and they have all the amenities you need, including beds, electricity, and running water.

The staff at Pushkar Safari and Camp are friendly and helpful, and they are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a memorable experience. They will also arrange transportation to and from the camp for you.

I had a great time at Pushkar Safari and Camp, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience in Rajasthan.

Here are some of the things I liked about Pushkar Safari and Camp:

The location is perfect, just outside of Pushkar but still close enough to explore the city. The tents are spacious and comfortable, and they have all the amenities you need. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a memorable experience. The activities are varied and interesting, and they give you a great opportunity to experience the desert culture of Rajasthan. Here are some of the things I didn't like about Pushkar Safari and Camp:

The camp is a bit rustic, so if you are looking for a luxurious experience, this may not be the place for you. The food is not the best, but it is edible. The camp can get crowded during peak season, so it is best to book in advance. Overall, I had a great time at Pushkar Safari and Camp, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience...
