Rajtilak of Maharana Pratap in Gogunda — Attraction in Rajasthan

A historically very important place. Though temple of Shiva and nearby covered area is well preserved by a priest there but campus is totally ignored by the authorities. All structures are badly affected by non maintenance. We Indians are really on such “high level of Advait” that we easily ignore and forget even the golden pages of our history ! Even a small part of such historical place in Europeean countries became a most attractive part of their heritage and tourism, but we never understood...

Visited this place as its in our neighbors village..so they have took us to visit as it is maharana prataps tilak place

It's such a historical place but feeling sad that it's not at all maintained Its a good place build by congress but now its like khandar...i felt so bad while visiting this place as maharana pratap has done such great work agains mughals to save his mevad..

Please whom so ever is in power please look into this matter and keep this place...

It was nice to experience the Rajputana history of bravery and strugle. I felt a connection! The place is in Gogunda block, half an hour away from Udaipur city and there is a family which worships the Lord Shiv linga that was once worshipped by Maharana Pratap. There is one old beautiful lady who has many interesting stories related to Maharana Pratap. Its belived that he was sworn in as Mahrana at this ancient Shiva temple. A must...
