We stayed in Gogunda Palace due to its close proximity to Ranakpur temple (GP is an hr away from Udaipur city and on the way to Ranakpur). After a bit of research we were convinced to stay here based on the past reviews and the beautiful pictures of the property. |Property: The hotel is a 15th century palace that has been impeccably restored with a lot of attention to detail. The minute you enter the property from a royal, 500 year old, 20 foot gate, you know its gonna be special! The highlight of the stay was the 10-11 unique Raaj Mahal suites that each have their own style and decor. In fact a few of them have art that dates back more than 450 years. If available, the hotel gives you the option of choosing the suite you like after a brief tour, and believe me, each suite is better than the other. The amenities in the room were very new and the bathrooms were fully stocked, super clean and very well designed. |I would recommend spending some time with the staff who can take you for a full tour of the hotel while learning its history. Do also visit the hotel terraces during sunset for a sight to behold! |Service: 5 star!! The staff was warm, welcoming and ensured that all our needs were met. (I was travelling with my wife who was 6 months pregnant). Special mentions to - Mr. Bhavar Singh, who showed us around the hotel, Mr. Nikhil and Mr. Anup - who took care of all our dietary needs, Mr. Sudhanshu and Mr. Pardeep for all the hospitality. |Definitely going back,...
