Critical Reflection: The park stands as a testament to nature’s effortless grace—an oasis where trees stretch skyward in quiet dignity, and wildflowers punctuate the earth with bursts of color. Yet this serene tableau is violently interrupted by the grotesque signature of human "intelligence." Those who arrive to drink in the beauty instead leave behind a trail of bottles, wrappers, and apathy, as if the very act of consuming nature’s gifts entitles them to defile it. The irony is palpable: creatures capable of reason, art, and innovation reduce themselves to vandals, trading reverence for recklessness. What should be a sanctuary becomes a landfill, a mirror reflecting our collective hypocrisy. We praise progress yet fail to evolve beyond the primal urge to conquer and discard. The true shame lies not in the litter, but in the hollow intellect that mistakes destruction for delight. Here, amid the choked roots and trampled blooms, nature weeps—not for itself, but for the species that claims superiority while suffocating the world that...

Calling it a garden would be a joke. The place is an absolute mess, it is neither clean nor maintained properly. I still remember when PM Modi visited this place in 2018. That was the only time when the whole garden had received a proper cleaning and maintenance. New statues being added that were covered with pulses, fruits and other things just for that one day. After that the place has been left as it is. Nothing new, even the existing ones have been left to rot. Occasionally when an event is happening they fix some of the front facing problems, just like putting a band aid on it,but they are never committed to properly maintaining it and making it a place that people would look forward...

At a distance of 14 km from Gangtok, Saramsa Garden, also known as Ipecac Garden, is indeed a treat for your senses. The exquisite range of different coloured flowers with the surrounding lush greenery is going to hold your attention. There is a large greenhouse in the garden as well which preserves a range of orchids. The Saramsa Garden is divided into several blocks for the ease of navigation. There is a small footbridge that is constructed over a small-sized pool with different-shaped plants in the block. Another block has a bench built under the shade of the trees for the visitors to relax
