Shanti Viewpoint — Attraction in Sikkim

It's beautiful point to view Gangtok city with skyline of Mountains (Sometimes snowy too) at the back. There are two tea stall to entertain visitors on the way to RUMTEK Monastery only few kilometers away ( in case you are staying in Rumtek Jung Hotel -opposite to the view point, like us, its a walking distance). Unfortunately much of care not put up by the authority in command, state of Viewpoint is not good. You will find lots of of tree branch growth obstructing your views, cleanliness is also a issue, At times visitors occupy seats inside View Point Shed offered by the hoteliers to finish their snacks- restricting your turn to attend the view point, Also seen lots of vehicles incl buses not engaged transporting tourist parking in front of Shanti View Point. Don't panic, as you proceed towards RUMTEK Monastery you will find lots of place along the road to stand and enjoy the beauty of nature even better than view point (only to take care of vehicles coming down in speed from opposite direction to avoid collision) Nevertheless Shanti Viewpoint is a must view for photography to cherish your memory afterwards. This place is a kind of Lonely place situated on the side suburbs of the city and thus lying far from main area i. e. MG Road. Reaching this place can be a task if you specially want to visit it. It's just opposite to a hotel rumteck dzonhg. There is nothing much to do apart from some photography as you will definitely get some breathtaking views of the main city and nature. I came with great expectations to this spot but There is nothing great to see here. There are better viewpoints in,Gangtok and Sikkim.2 3 shops are here and small snacks with tea is available.
