We went to visit the waterfall on the 31st of December. Since Yercaud is a very small hill station, hence all the tourist spots are quite near to each other. It took around 15-20 mins to reach the car parking lot for the waterfall from the boating place. After reaching there we were a little confused as there wasn't any proper person to guide us towards the waterfall. Hence after asking several people we got to know that there are two ways to reach the waterfall. 1st was by walking down almost 100-120 steps to reach the waterfall. And the second was to go through a jeep safari. So, we opted for the jeep safari. But again there were people who misguided us because of which we had to wait for more than q hr for the jeep. Later after asking several other people we learnt that the jeep safari was from a different location which was just 5-6 mins walking distance from the parking lot. The jeep driver took a total of 1000/- for 5 adults for the to and fro ride to the waterfall. The ride was adventurous and bumpy. And it took barely 10-15 mins to reach the spot. One needs to wait for the jeep while it finishes it's other rides of picking and dropping the other tourists from the pick up point to the location and again from the location to the drop point since there is only one jeep. The waterfall is beautiful and one can take a bath in it. Good for photography. One can opt for a trek to the waterfall for a better experience. In all it was a wonderful experience visiting the waterfall.

I have read the reviews in Google already and very much aware that it requires a hard trekking to climb up the falls during return. I was hesitant due to this but decided to go to this place with an idea that it is off season and the crowd will be minimum so it is the right time to visit. Given below my experience after visiting the falls: The road to reach Kiliyur falls starts from a small cut opposite to the Yercaud lake and it is a stretch of nearly 4 Kms. The road is narrow and absolutely worst with no thar surface, only gravel stones are filled throughout. I went in a two wheeler and it is very skidding, uncomfortable, jerking and irritating. There is no much of Traffic but on crowded times it will test your patience since the road is very narrow, two cars cant cross opposite at ease. From the parking area you have to climb down roughly 300 steep steps (may be 1 Km) which takes you to the falls. When I'm going down saw people on their way returning finding it very difficult to climb the steps and exhausted. Middle aged men, Family with Kids, Elderly people are absolutely struggling and some one fighting with in themselves for bringing to this place with kids. Till you reach the last 25 steps you can't see the falls, only when you reach the bottom most you can see it. Actually the stream of water is flowing through a considerable height but even then the water flow is weak and as always group of people occupying all the possible places where you can take bath. The falls is either not photogenic, the surrounding places are not clean, there is no area to sit and watch peacefully at least. stayed there for 1 hour of time (can't bath since no one who already occupied the falls is moving) and started to climb back again. I went in a off season, even then there is remarkable crowd which made congestive in the falls area. I swear that in season timing there will no place to stand at all. The return experience is so hard as I expected, felt like climbing a never ending steps which made us so exhaustive and dehydrated. The water falls no way justify all those breath taking efforts done in climbing up and down. I ended up in a cramp at my calf muscle and eventually went back to the hotel and took rest instead of continuing the sight seeing in other places. If you are family with kids, middle aged men who don't have that much of trekking experience or having elders in your gang straight away skip this place. Instead of putting an exhaustive effort for visiting the falls and coming back, you can see much more and better places in that time.

Waterfall was great to see . But there was huge rush . The road to falls is small & people are parking cars on side which was causing traffic issues . Noone to stop roadside parking . Then there is parking available . Once they collect ticket we need to go through very small road where only one vehicle can pass . Noone is helping ppl are just available to collect money which we felt bad . Took some time to reach parking . At parking there is clean paid toilet facility . Then nearby small shops available. We need to walk down to the falls . My leg was shivering when reached down it was very steep . Luckily while going down we got information from a person that there is jeep facility to come up . That was a big relief . They are charging 100rs per person for jeep safari. This facility majority ppl dont know & are struggling to return especially old aged people . For jeep we need to cross & go up , wait . When we reached people count was correct to get filled in jeep . So dint had to wait & all . Authorities should improve services like road should be made better + roadside parking issues & traffic issues must be resolved.

Kiliyur falls has a good view for photography but provides a disappointing experience , We need to scale down 200 steps to go down. In some stretch there is no hand rail and have risk of falling. Steps are little big which makes it difficult to climb and step down. Few areas connected with steel ladder which is poorly maintained. One snacks shop in between occupies half the space in the walk way. No proper approach in the falls tover take bath, neither they have protection to stand and take bath.Slippers rocks and no fall protection. Entire falls is occupied my boys and men and not suitable for ladies to take bath. Its a total men's world. However one good thing is that the falls looks awesome with step by step flow of water and the natural scenery you can view while going through the steps. Can visit once . But for a family it will definitely be tiresome and disappointing. Authorities need to provide proper hand rail and fall protection Car parking cost 50/- Bike parking cost 15/- Carry water along with you Please don't throw trash, bottles over there Be responsible Do follow me for more updates Thank you.

Highly recommended place to visit in Yercaud. Ample parking space in different spots. Try to park at the start of the trek, there is a gated parking area with washroom. Parking charges Rs 50. If you are a heart patient or having breathing issues, kindly avoid. However, if you are not interested to trek, then jeep service available but it will expensive. Kindly note jeep reaches to certain extent, then you need to walk. We had to climb down 200 approx steep steps. It was quite an adventure. You will find different places to sit and shops for food items like packed juices, water, soda, bhaji, maggi etc. Prices are quite decent if you compare with Ooty or Chikmanglur. After the tiring trek, the waterfall looks beautiful. You can take bath or get your legs drenched. Cons: very dirty at certain places Many will feel uncomfortable as the locals will bath half naked there. Recommended: after or during monsoon as you get water Try to come early in the morning as it opens at 8am to avoid extreme heat and sweat.

Two stars because in offseason like I went in June there is no water at all. You will reach to this place and do not find what actually you are expecting. So I recommend to go after monsoon season so that you can see the water fall that really is waterfall. Otherwise you will waste a trip plus around 300 steps that you have to use to go down and climb up back. Nothing much to enjoy. Also no food available nearby. Road for about 2 kilometers is also not enough wide to accommodate 2 vehicles. Your car or cab has to take reverse to let other side go. My overall experience was just ok ok. I enjoyed with friends but as a destination of our trip I did not like it much. I donโt know about on-season trip but I have seen pics on google and it looks awesome. You before planning a trip check it on google when is the best time to see waterfall there. Resorts nearby also are good and if you are staying in any of them you will really enjoy the peace and calmness around.
