What a wonderful day it was yesterday.
We started early in the evening, and visited the Shri Rajagopalaswami temple in Manimangalam, unfortunately the priest was not doing well, hence the temple was closed.
So without wasting much time, we turned back and came quickly to this temple, since it was a pradhosam yesterday. Was able to locate the temple easily but finding a parking spot was very difficult. Parked the vehicle near karapudiyamman temple and walked to this temple.
Was so nice to see so many people participating in the pradosham. It was absolutely wonderful to see the festive atmosphere inside the temple.
Temple faces east, Lord Manneswarar temple faces east. Ambal Maragadambigai faces south in a separate sannadhi. No rajagopuram, kodimaram present, temple pond present and in the northern side of the temple.
Unique feature of the temple is, nandhi baghawan faces away from the lord, and i do not know the reason why he is facing away from the lord. Another unique feature of the temple is the aavudai is square shaped but due to rush in the temple i could not see that or clearly make out.
We sang few known thevaram songs.
But the best part of the whole evening was, we met a group young men, who were from down south but staying near this place for work. Started talking to them, and what a wonderful time we had, talking about Temples, Temple architecture, Tamil literature related to bhakthi, and we didnt know how time just flew by.
What i was more surprised was the way the four young men listened to what i was saying and the way they interacted with me as i was talking with them, clearly showed their interest in the subject and also clearly showed they were present both physically and mentally.
Wonderful temple to visit, do visit if you are...

As per Sivachariyar the temple is more than 1200 years old. The temple is facing east with an entrance arch. Dwajasthambam, Balipedam and Nandhi mandapam are in the outer prakaram.
Nandhi is facing east like Shiva. (Most of the temples Nandhi is facing Siva). Here it is opposite. It was understood from the Sivachariyar that Nandhiamperuman participated in the war as per the request of kulothunga Chozha.
In the outer prakaram Sannadhi for Vinayagar, Sandikeswarar, Navagrahas, and Bhairavar.
Ambal is in a separate sannadhi in standing posture facing south. From Outer prakaram to sanctum mandapam entrance Dwara Ganapathy on the left and Dwara Subramaniyar on the right. The shrine is with sanctum, and a mandapam. In Mandapam, Ganapathy, Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniyar.
