Came back to karaikudi, after visiting Pattamangalam and Piranmalai temples. Had our lunch and our afternoon nap.
Got up had our evening tea, and with the guidance of the hotel staff, we just walked down since it is very close to the hotel, to visit this house.
Was shocked to see such a big beautiful house in typical karaikudi chettinad fashion. Was even more surprised to see the number of windows in the house. Not sure whether there are 1000 windows in this house, but the name aptly suits this house, since there are windows everywhere in the house, and in all the floors too.

Was thinking how much time and effort and money they must have spent to build such a wonderful house, and how much time money effort must have been used to maintain such a big house.
The house was totally locked, so we just had a view of the house from the road side and took pictures too from the road side.
If you are in karaikudi and have free time to kill then surely you can visit this house to have a glimpse of the old karakudi chettinad type of...

It seems that a few families are living there on rent, but the overall condition of the house is in a pathetic state. Either the owners should take responsibility for its upkeep, or they should hand it over to the government for proper preservation.
