I recently visited Basara Gnana Saraswati mata temple for my twins Alsharabyasam. Before going to temple lot of people told me that don't prefer that temple for Alsharabyasam , now a days people prefer wargal for Alsharabyasam. But I preferred Basara and taken 1000 special pooja tickets for each one but I am not satisfied with the way of pooja performed especially the behaviour of poojari and the rush.I suggest don't go for special Alsharabyasam in Basara. After that I had Mata Gnana Saraswati darshan feel happy, peaceful and blessed. When I came out from Mata darshan I have seen a quotation on board " Amma Daya vunte chalu anni vunnatte ( అమ్మ దయ వుంటె చాలు అన్ని వున్నట్టె )" . That makes sense and feel better. Saraswati Mata darshanam adbutam but the maintenance and especially the behaviour of poojari poojari was not good. Why I am writing this review is just for people who are planning from Hyderabad just go for Amma Darshanam don't expect more. If you are most interesting for Alsharabyasam with special 1000 rupees ticket for that but don't prefer the poojari who spoils our peaceful mind in pooja. Please check my family photo in temple with that poojari.great man salute to him👏

As i always say who i am to rate a temple still we do that to help people who search for. I visited the temple on a very special day, Basant Panchami the day of goddess Saraswati. Devotees were there with their small children for education empowerment Shiksha sanskar was the biggest attraction there. It is quite obvious that the crowd was ultimately high, people were full of enthusiasm & devotion. The security was high. Management was there & darshan were on sale 100/- 1000/- & free It took us 4 hours to complete this journey right from the mandir gate to idol Saraswati. Lack of arrangements & cleanliness was there. Frooti & water bottle were priced high to loot devotees. Vehicles were not allowed before 500 -600 metres from temple. Lodges were priced high as 2500/- per night. So we decided not to stay there. Enjoy the river over there if you have time to stay for one night and take a holy bath the next morning. If you want to avoide all this do visit on a normal day. We heard a lot about this place & we visited. Will surely visit again on a normal day

Basara temple is of sarswati devi , maharshi vyasa and other gods and goddesses in Hinduism. Many people not only from Hinduism but also from other religions came here to Devote sarswati devi. Sarswati devi is god of knowledge, education and maharshi vyasa written the MAHABHARATA. You can be here by taking railway to Basara station (BSX).From Railway stand you'll be charged rs 20 to mandir. The temple trust have free food and you can stay there by giving a 200rs for 24 hrs. This is very holy place. You can tatoo yourself there . Also, there is a man who draw your sketch as realistic. You can also get sculpture of many gods there. There are also many mandiras of all gods. If you went there morning then you'll get datshan in 10-15 mins. At afternoon and evening time the area is crowned. Mandir opens 7am-1pm then 2:30pm-7pm.

Everyone exuded positive vibes. Regarding my recent visit, I would like to advise against purchasing a fruit basket for the akshara abhyasam (first write ceremonial). Due to the fruit basket being prominently mentioned in the required list for Akshara Abhyasam on the banner, local vendors compel us to purchase one. Simply, it is a business. The Pandits never use fruit baskets and told us to put the fruit basket in a bag to carry it home. And NO kit is provided even for Rs. 1000 ticket. Furthermore, it is preferable to purchase and carry turmeric, red turmeric(kumkum), rice in a 4x5 zip cover, six slate pencils, and 6 slates(One slate for your child and five slates to be distributed to other children.) from your local area rather than purchasing them there. Every item there is costly.

This temple is located around 180 km away from Hyderabad where you can reach by train and road! Direct busses are available and every morning there is an intercity from Hyderabad where you can reach temple around 11-15 and there is a free bus service from railway station to temple ! That bus will take you to Godavari river in between and then to temple and free of cost! It’s excellent that temple is maintaining free bus! It’s fantastic to have darshan and this is special for people who are having aksharabhyasam a ritual where a kid is made to write for first time! There are places to keep your phones luggage’s and footwear seperately and safely but on paid basis! Later free food u can avail from temple!

Basara Temple is Very Very Famous Temple of Goddess Saraswati Mata located at Banks of Godavari River. My Favorite Place and it is Very famous for the Aksharabhyasam for the Children. Ideal for the Family, especially for the Children and Students who seek blessings of Mata Saraswati for the Good Knowledge and Education.. One can go by Road and Rail - Bus Service is very good to this place and also few trains go via this route and there is a Railway Station at Basara.. There are Hotels available to Stay at this place.. Very well maintained Temple and it is very neat and clean.. Expect more crowd during weekends, Holidays and before the schools reopen..
