My recent stay at a hotel in Basar left me feeling dissatisfied and disappointed with the overall experience. Despite booking a room for 9 beds, I was provided with only 8 beds upon my arrival. This came as a surprise and inconvenience as I had specifically chosen this hotel based on its advertised capacity to accommodate a larger group of people. To add insult to injury, the receptionist asked me to pay an additional fee of 200 for each mattress to accommodate the extra person, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. However, I showed my booking confirmation from an online site, which clearly stated that 9 beds were included, and the receptionist remained quiet.

In addition to this, the promised toiletries were not available in the room. As someone who places great importance on cleanliness and hygiene, this was a major issue for me. I had to request the toiletries from the reception, which further added to my inconvenience.

What was even more frustrating was the slow response from the receptionist in addressing my concerns. Despite my repeated attempts to communicate my grievances, it seemed like there was no sense of urgency or empathy from the staff.

Given these issues, I felt let down by the hotel and its services. In my opinion, there are certainly better options available in Basar, which offer better value for money and more attentive services. Recently I visited this lodge in Basara with Family and I really felt bad about it the room thy allocated to us was single bed even though I have paid for a double bedded room and I have asked the management and then they have shifted us to other room then, their the room was okay, but we faced a major issue upon arrival. We reached at night, and none of the sockets in the room were working. By morning, we raised a complaint because our mobile phones were completely drained. The staff responded that they would check once we returned from darshan.

After we got back, I asked them again to fix it. They called an electrician, and after 3–4 follow-ups, he finally said, “Okay ma’am, we’ll fix it, but it will take some time.” I requested them multiple times to at least provide an alternative way to charge our phones, as we had to travel again soon. After much insistence, they allowed us to use a socket outside the room.

The bathroom was also very smelly, which made our stay uncomfortable. I had read great reviews about this place, so I chose it for a family trip for my daughter’s Aksharabhyasam —but I was very disappointed. The amount I paid (₹1500) was definitely not worth it.

Another big issue was the lift—it was extremely slow, very small, had no working light or fan inside, and felt suffocating and unsafe. Even our grandmother, who has difficulty walking, chose to take the stairs instead of using the lift.
