The regional science centre (RSC) established in the district is serving as a means of infotainment to the students from across the state. Telangana state council of Science and Technology launched this project with a view to evolve methods of promoting applied science and technology research among the youth. Sitting on top of a hillock on Hunter Road in Hanamkonda, the state of the art building dressed with a dual tone of orange and grey does not fail to grab the attention of the passers-by on the road developing curiosity and inquisitiveness towards science and technology in the minds of students, teachers, academicians and even general public. The science centre is experiencing a daily traffic of about 400 students from across the state. There is lot of response from schools and colleges across the state. Students from other districts are also showing interest to visit this science centre and gain practical knowledge of science they study in their text books The science centre is loaded with state of the art equipment inside and outside the 15 acre complex. There are 69 exhibits in a range of galleries across Physical science, Biological science, on Biodiversity, climate change and other contemporary science topics which help students understand various concepts of science better. The magic tap, which pours out water without any pipe connection, the Leon Foucault pendulum which proves that the earth is revolving, head on a platter which explains the concept of optical illusion and other such exhibits provide a lot of information to the students in an enjoyable environment. Other exhibits like the musical corridor, infinite train, sympathetic swing, parabolic reflectors and pinhole camera are thoroughly enjoyed by the students at the same time inculcating curiosity and inquisitiveness among them.
