I would like to share some of my travel experience s from 10th to 12th September 19. We were on a trip to attend a Grahapravesam in Srivatsam Senior living in Kalyanapuram which is gradually picking up.Not all the blocks are fully occupied. Construction is still going on. On 10th we had been to Swamimalai where we performed Abishegam and Thangakavasam for Lord Muruga. Then we waited for Rathotsavam which is to be conducted by 7p.m as per notice board. Inspite of 3out of four arrived the ceremony didn't take place till 7.30 P M . Then we made the temple staff to start without waiting for the fourth Kattalaikarar. People should know that making God to wait for them is a sin. At least 20 people's would have waited for the late comer. Anyway we had our night dinner. at Mami's mess which is near the temple. Homely inexpensive dosa and Idli and the famous Kumbakonam degree coffee. So nice. Accommodation is also available. But we booked in Thiruvidaimarudur a service Apartment near East gopuram of the famous Mahalingaswami temple. Maruda Apartment . So friendly and pleasing service. Nice double bed rooms with hot water. Comparatively cheaper than staying at Kumbakonam. That day being Pradosha we went to the temple and spent the time peacefully and devotionally. Night we had our dinner at Seetharama Vilas on the main road of Aduthurai. A small Veg. hotel accomodating 30 persons at a time. But the Tiffin they offered is simply Superb. Not able to explain in words. So delicious so kind serving and upto the satisfaction of the diner. Now came the climax. As we were waiting for our Cab rain started. So we were made to simply watch what is going on. Two vans came with 30 persons. The staff. of the restaurant brought Umbrellas and assisted all people to get down and get into the hotel. I never saw such kind of courtesy anywhere. Gudos to the staff and the owner. Manitham innum sakavillai. Very. happy on 12 th we had been to Tharasuram temple which is noted for its architectural treasure. Nice grass landscape . Leisurely enjoyable place. Again I have to say about my morning breakfast experience in Sri Bhavan in Sundaraperumalkoil enroute Tiruchi. Hot soft Idlis Ghee roast and methu Vada with three chutneys and hot sambar. Affordable hygienic and unharm to our stomach. They may be small in size But qualitywise they are far more better than Sangeetha and all which are meant for elite community. On the way we also went to Iyyarapoan temple in Thiruvaiyaru and returned to Tiruchi via Kallanai. It is heart rendering to see Cauvery in full spate. Thanks to Varuna bagavan though not to Karnataka. All may laugh my postings about dining experience. But What I want to convey is there are so many hidden gems in this field which may suit our purse and also stomach. Don't be carried away by the brand...

Did a night trip from Chennai again for a family function. Wonderful cool drive.
Wanted to visit this temple for quiet sometime, finally was able to visit the temple in this trip, the next day evening.
Temple on a hill top, and construction wise somewhat confusing with the other normal temples (in terms of direction). Rajagopuram present but faces East, Lord faces West. Kodimaram present but it is placed south to north. Two ambals present, and strangely one ambal faces east and one ambal faces west.
We had a very wonderful darshan, the priest was enough to come and show us aarathi and give us prasadham.
When checking for the thevaram songs, came to know that this place is called Karkudi (கற்குடி).
Thiruganasambandar, Appar Peruman and Sundaramurthy nayanar have sung pathigam on this lord.
Thiruganasambandar in his pathigam (1.043) sings
Appar Peruman in his pathigam (6.060) sings
Sundaramurthy swamigal in his pathigam (7.027) sings so beautifully as follows..
Near the kodimaram they have kept a veech aruva (knife) ... why?
Temple inside definitely very neat and clean. On ground level there is a temple pond and it is awfully bad, though protected by walls etc, still it is so poorly maintained.
After having darshan, i was came down to the rajagopuram area, and noticed three older ladies, entering the temple with flowers etc in their hand. They didn't know that the temple was on top of a hill and they need to climb the somewhat steep stairs.
When they saw the stairs one of the lady simply said no and went back to the car. I felt very sad for her, because how she must have been eager to come and pray and now due to the height she couldn't do it. That point i told myself, i should climb all the hill temples that i wanted to see before i get old. Hope the lord grants me that wish.
Parking is definitely an issue if u...
