"Among the new temples of Mathurā, the Dvārakādīśa Temple is prominent. It was established about 150 years ago by a devotee in the line of Śrī Vallabhācārya. This temple is close to Viśrāma-ghāṭa and Gatāśrama-ṭīlā. The temples of Kṛṣṇa-varāha and Śveta-varāha are also nearby. Dvārakādīśa is the king of Dvārakā, and thus Kṛṣṇa is here with His queens Rukmiṇī and Satyabhāmā, and without His peacock feather and flute. Generally, at the beginning of the rainy season, during the month of Śrāvaṇa, a very elaborate swing festival takes place here. Hundreds and thousands of devotees, both inhabitants of Mathurā and devotees from very far away, assemble here to attend the festival. The wealthy Dvārakādīśa swings on a golden swing bedecked with jewels. Once, the author went with a thousand devotees to the Dvārakādīśa Temple. When he arrived, the temple door was closed. He sent a messenger to ask Dvārakādīśa, “Why are You hiding? Where is Your flute, peacock feather and dress of Vṛndāvana? Have You changed Your father and mother? Do You have any new, beautiful beloveds from Dvārakā or Mathurā? Why are You not coming forward?” Hearing this, Dvārakādīśa began to cry bitterly, remembering the pastimes of Vṛndāvana. The author and his party told Him that Śrīmatījī had sent them to see how He was. “She is lamenting for You,” they said. Dvārakādīśa then promised that He would return to Vṛndāvana in a day or two. We visited this temple on 5th Feb,19. The temple is in Mathura roughly around 20mins distance from Shree Krishna Janambhumi. Only E rickshaws are allowed to enter into the lane. They will charge around 10-20 rs from Janambhumi to dwarka dish temple. It's huge temple with Rajasthani style carvings. Once you entered from front door you'll see beautiful Murthi of Shreenathji and there's 3 line of fencing. Beautiful Shringar on Lord will blow your mind and when you look up at the ceiling you'll see a beautiful desgins and carvings of his stories. Be aware of the priest they'll ask money on the name of Lord. Just avoid them. The temple is currently managed by Vaishnava Sect. Photography is Prohibited in premises but somehow I managed to click not so clearly but yes it's enough to get knowledge of how beautiful the temple is. If you want to buy a Prasad go ahead without any 2nd thought The Mathadi Prasad is really fresh and tastey that you won't get it on street. The temple belongs to Pushtimarg tradition. its situated amidst very narrow and crowded streets. u better ask to a local for direction rather than following gps. way to temple is not very clean. always check the darshan timings before going there otherwise it may take a while to wait. temple itself is very crowded inside and a long que is most expected. it may be discomforting for kids and old people. But the darshan of shri Dwarikadhish vanishes all our pains, problems and discomforts caused. amazing shringar and decoration. temple is beautiful inside just if u can manage to adore its beauty among all this hustle. Pandas r pathetic as always. they r just there to commercialize our religious sentiments. You can buy small pooja things and items from outside market pls be aware of unexpected monkey attack.
