Dear public, This is to inform you all that there is Very poor situation of Taramandal, Gorakhpur There are spider webs on the dome Seats are not in a proper manner it should be up and up on a slope instead all are at the same level... Bathrooms are not cleaned looks like no one take care of it.... No equipments in the astrology gallery are working many buttons are taken out... No supervision and no superior member present there only abig chair is present at the office of Planetarium but no one is sitting there. It's so sad that people are saying Gorakhpur is getting developed, is this the way... Is this the way so poor quality such places are present in Delhi Dehradun Hyderabad and Chennai even in kapurthala and they are in a Very good situation, here the situation is too bad. The only reason this place is working is due to Planetarium dome that also with Spider webs and no maintenance.
People of Gorakhpur see this and remain happy with this much and says Gorakhpur has a great Planetarium, once show them the outer world , then they will know how fast Gorakhpur is going and at what speed. Only making public spots and tourist spots like Ram Gad taal will not make every thing good ,an overall okayness will come only when places related to science will also develop. School students comes there and will seethose non working equipment, what will they learn???
Answer they will learn that this is theway things run and nothing left in science.
It's so sad to see all this today.
I was shocked to listen about dome theatre in Gorakhpur but the situation make me sad and so sad. So so sad
It's a request to the concerned authorities to take care of these places and save the nose of Gorakhpur in front of other cities of India who are taking care of there science related places.
Thanks and...
Read moreThe dome offers a unique space for astronomical projections, and even though only a portion of it is currently being utilized, it still provides an immersive experience. The documentary shown is concise, around 20 minutes long, making it a quick introduction to space science. With a few enhancements in content depth and visual quality, it has great potential to become highly engaging. The documentary is presented entirely in Hindi, which supports language inclusivity and promotes regional understanding—though incorporating a mix of Hindi and English scientific terms in future versions could make it even more accessible to a wider audience.
The facility also features an astronomical exhibition filled with a variety of electronic displays. While some devices are currently non-functional, they show promise and could greatly enrich the learning experience once restored. With a little more maintenance and active involvement, this place has immense potential to become a vibrant center that ignites curiosity about astronomy in young minds. It's a valuable space with all the right ingredients to inspire future explorers...
Read moreAlright the ticket is so cheap. Only 25 rupees per person. There is a large dome that is so awesone while projection, air condition and comfortable seats inside, but there are some issues i went there at 5 o'clock show, they claim show is 45 minutes long but it ended in around 25 or 30 minutes, only one side of wall they used for projection where they provide some basic knowledge about our universe. There were spiders and their webs on the wall top, i guess they can't clean it because it is too high. The pictures was so blurry. There is toilet but so dirty. But the most frustrated thing was they didn't let us see the exhibition, i love astronomy and i was so curious to see the gadgets related to it but it was huge disappointing thing to me. Still they provide you so unique documentary for just 25 rupees so you should visit here...
