Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is an under construction temple at Vrindavan, Mathura, India. As planned, it will be the tallest religious monument in the world.1 At its potential cost of ₹300 crore (US$42 million) it is likely to be one of the most expensive temples in world. The temple has been planned by ISKCON Bangalore.[3] The planned effort includes the temple rising to a height of about 700 feet (213 meters or 70 floors) and a built-up area of 540,000 sq. ft. (~50,000 sq. m.)[4] The project is set in 62 acres of land and includes 12 acres for parking and a helipad.[5]

A skyscraper temple-cum-heritage center - with a height of 210 meters and footprint of about 5.5 acres, surrounded by recreated forests of Braj.

World Tallest Hindu Temple Mathura and Vrindavan are important places for devotees of Krishna from all over the world. Vrindavan is especially a very revered and sacred place for the devotees of Lord Sri Krishna. In fact, the Holy Land of Vrindavan can be considered to be the spiritual capital of India.

The skyscraper temple-cum-heritage project, conceived of by the devotees of ISKCON-Bangalore, will consist of a grand temple of Lord Sri Krishna at its centre. The grand temple shall be of monumental proportions and its iconic architecture shall harmoniously combine elements of both Indian temple architecture and modern architecture. This temple is poised to become the tallest, grandest and largest religious structure in India. The temple has a footprint of about 5.5 acres and rises to a height of about 700 feet (213 metres or 70 floors). The temple is planned to be vibrant with festivals and religious activities throughout the year.

To create a good experience, there will be a beautiful park around this magnificent temple, called the ‘Outdoor Krishna Lila Park’. Spread over an area of 30 acres, this park will flourish with varieties of lush vegetation, green pastures, elegant vistas of fruit bearing trees, flower laden creepers serenaded by song birds, clear water lakes with lotuses and lilies and water falls that tumble from small artificial hillocks.

A visitor who visits this glorious park will also get an opportunity for a boat ride. In the boat ride of fifteen to twenty minutes, the visitor will also get to see the different Krishna lilas attractions in the form of dolls set up in natural surroundings in a rejuvenating ambience of sound and light effects.

The Bhagavad Gita Expo will ignite the minds and invigorate the intellect with the priceless wisdom given by Lord Krishna which forms the bedrock of the culture and the philosophy of life in India. The Krishna Heritage Museum will showcase the rich heritage and artistic celebration of Lord Sri Krishna in diverse cultures of India, practiced and perfected over thousands of years.

From the ground level, a capsule elevator will rise up through the temple core, taking visitors to the Viewing Gallery at 700 feet for a breathtaking panoramic view of Braj Mandal.

It was the desire of Srila Prabhupada, Founder Acharya of ISKCON, that the glories of Sri Krishna and Sri Vrindavana Dham be spread all over the world so that the peoples of the world irrespective of caste, creed, color, nationality or gender, are freed from the sufferings of material existence and find everlasting happiness through Krishna consciousness.

IT IS ALSO OUR INTENT THAT THE PROJECT SHOULD BECOME THE SOURCE AND SUPPORT FOR MORE SOCIAL INTERVENTION PROGRAMS IN BRAJ:

Akshaya Patra mid-day meal program for the economically challenged children of Braj.

Welfare programs for the widows of Vrindavan.

Restoration, up-gradation and rejuvenation of the important sites of Braj where Lord Sri Krishna performed His pastimes.

Restoration of River Yamuna to her original and pristine glory.

Goshala for demonstrating cow protection, as cows are dear to Lord Sri Krishna and an important part of the...

A visit to the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir transcends the ordinary, offering an experience that is nothing short of sublime. Even in its current state of nascent completion, the architectural grandeur is utterly awe-inspiring, a testament to the profound vision animating its construction. When fully realized, this colossal edifice is projected to soar to an astonishing height of approximately 700 feet (210 meters or 70 stories), thereby earning the distinction of becoming the tallest religious monument globally. This ambitious undertaking is spearheaded by ISKCON Bangalore, with a projected cost of around $80 million, aiming to blend traditional Nagara architecture with modern engineering marvels. The internal environment of the temple is meticulously regulated, boasting a properly air-conditioned ambiance that offers a welcome respite from the outside elements. Furthermore, the burgeoning culinary infrastructure, comprised of various food courts and canteens, already serves delectable fare. While several of these establishments are yet to commence operations, the foresight in their inclusion is commendable. A particular highlight of our visit was the Prasadam—a warm and freshly prepared khichdi—which was undeniably exquisite in its simplicity and flavor. The comparatively sparse crowd, perhaps attributable to the temple's ongoing construction, allowed for an unhurried and profoundly contemplative exploration of the premises. The surrounding temple precincts are maintained with exemplary neatness and meticulous care, reflecting a dedication to creating a truly sacred and inviting space. Beyond the temple itself, the comprehensive vision for this complex includes a Krishna Lila theme park, a heritage museum, and a library, all designed to propagate the profound wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. There are also plans for vast parking facilities, capable of accommodating over 3,000 cars, and even a helipad, underscoring the scale of this project. Indeed, the Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir stands as an unparalleled architectural gem within the spiritual heartland of Vrindavan, poised to become a beacon of devotion and a magnificent testament to cultural heritage for generations to come. Its foundational depth, reputedly surpassing that of the Burj Khalifa, and its earthquake-resistant design further underscore the monumental ambition and engineering prowess behind this...
