Devki Nandan Thakur ji [Famous Bhagwat Kathacharya and the inspiration behind newly built magnificient Priya Kant Ju Temple] told me in an interview-
I have a very close relationship with Vrindavan. Though I was born in Braj area, my childhood was spent in Vrindavan. From my childhood days I have been associated with Vrindavan and it is with the blessings of Thakur Ji that things are happening in my life. I have been singing songs praising the lord from this area only and have constructed this huge Priya Kant Ju Temple in this area only. It always came to my mind that Thakur Ji should be placed inside the lotus flower as lotus flower is very dear to him.
Braj Dham on which we are sitting right now is no ordinary place. It is golok dham and has been brought on earth by Thakur Ji himself. It is different from the other three lokas and it is the heart of god where we are sitting right now. Everywhere else while the kings rule, here the queen is the ruler. It is said that without the grace of Radha Rani even a leaf does not move. Bhagwan Shri Krishna also does what is desired by Radha Rani. We consider that anyone coming to such a holy ancient land is extremely fortunate. In Vrindavan even the devis and devatas do not get entry very easily. Generally we have only heard of bhakti but never had its darshan. However Bhakti [devotion] is a maharani [queen] in Vrindavan which even appears gives darshan and dances here. So of this holy Vrindavan howsoever much we praise will not be enough. In this very Vrindavan Lord Krishna performs maharaas. Maharaas is something which is neither understood by the youngsters nor by the so called intellectuals. The intellectuals feel that why Lord Krishna used to perform raas with the gopis. They do not understand the meaning of raas. For them the boy and girl dancing in a club is raas and that is the kind of raas which they understand. Just imagine what kind of raas would that have been in which Lord Siva himself comes to attend and he comes in the form of a gopi. So what kind of raas would it have been to attend which someone who has drunk poison, who grants death to everyone , the one who destroys Kamadeva just by the mere force of his vision, attends the raas and that also in the form of a gopi. That was not something like a modern raas that happens in the current times. It was not a raas in which you rub one stick against another in a dance as happens today. That raas was the raas which took place between the soul and the god and they were together and they were close. Everyone always wanted this. Even the kings wanted to be close to the god. In fact that is what the gopis got. So when the soul gets to meet god it is raas but nowadays it is very difficult to understand this. However to clear all such confusions we must reside in Vrindavan and perform bhajans. We must make it a point to visit the temple of Gopehwar Maharaj in the evening. Even today Lord Siva is there in the form of gopi in Vrindavan. Even today raas takes place in Vrindavan. So Vrindavan is a very pious place and not everyone get a chance to visit it and all of us who stay here and who have been able to come here are really very fortunate. In fact it is with the grace of our Thakur Ji that we are residing here.
After interviewing the founder of the temple I went around the temple and found the murti of thakur ji really mesmerising. The temple was overflowing with devotees. Just like the Prem Mandir this temple is also a recent construction and very well maintained and also managed in a very...
Read moreFirst of all my prayers to Lord Priya Kant Shri Radhey Krishna ji and to Devki Nandan Thakur ji Maharaj. This temple which is a recent spiritual landmark on the chatikara Road in Vrindavan just before Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Dham is a great place to behold the beautiful form of Lord Shri Radha Krishna. Trust me if you just behold the beautiful face of Shreemati Radhika then her beautiful mesmerising eyes will take away your heart and you will be completely mesmerized. Shri Radhika eyes are just glowing eternal diamond and Shri Prabhu with her looks divine, pristine and amazing. I visited the temple for the first time recently and was bowled away by the beauty and splendor of it. The intricate design on white marble from inside is just too beautiful and artistic. Infact the showstopper just before the Darshan is the Braj Gufa where the light and sound gives a reak feeling of the events and pastime of Lord Krishna which is depicted in the form of paintings and sculpture on wall. It is super beautiful and a must watch. Please don't miss that. There is an arrangement for accommodation just next to the temple and rooms are available at a very reasonable rates. Before entry temple one has to first enter the gufa or cave and then proceed to the temple. Let me share something about the Trust which is managing this temple.
