The Corbett Interpretation Center, located near the Dhikala (Dhangarhi) gate of Jim Corbett National Park, is an excellent prelude to your safari experience. Around 20–25 km from Ramnagar, the drive to the center itself is scenic, passing through lush forests and the foothills of the Himalayas, setting the mood for what’s to come.
Inside, the center offers a fascinating mix of history, conservation stories, and immersive exhibits that bring the park’s rich biodiversity to life. Detailed dioramas showcase the landscapes and wildlife of Corbett, while mounted specimens and informative panels narrate the park’s journey over the decades. The highlight for many visitors is the series of engaging shows—ranging from a simulated night forest experience with authentic wildlife sounds, to a 3D theater screening stunning documentaries, to exhibits that recreate the ambience of the monsoon through sound and light. These features make it more than just a museum—it’s a sensory experience.
The center is thoughtfully designed to educate visitors about the importance of conservation while keeping things interactive and engaging for all age groups. For families, nature lovers, and first-time visitors, it’s a great place to gain context before heading into the reserve.
If you’re visiting Corbett, I highly recommend making a stop here before your Dhikala safari. It not only enriches your understanding of the park but also builds anticipation for the real adventure that awaits...
