Kandoliya Devta Mandir is the temple of Lord Shiva. Devotees from many places of India and some from foreign land as well visit this auspicious and beautiful temple for having the blessings of Lord Shiva. The place is in a scenic setting, peaceful and will give you a wonderful view of the mountains and the Pauri city. The Kandoliya temple is situated at the top of a hill in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Lord Shiva is worshipped here by the name of Kandolia Thakur. The Kandoliya Devta Mandir is one of the most popular amongst the tourist attractions based in Pauri. The ancient Kandoliya Temple is a massively respected religious site in the region, as it is dedicated to the local deity of the people of the place, Kandoliya Devta. The temple is based around the dense forest having tall trees of pine. It is indeed a cool, quiet & beautiful place. You can have a panoramic view of Pauri. The place is really very peaceful and beautiful. It is 3-4 km away from the main station but it is undoubtedly a great place to come and visit time and again because this place always have a fresh air for the lion’s share of it is covered by trees. It also has a very good view of Himalaya mountain range. The Kandoliya temple is definitely not to be missed if you are touring Uttarakhand.

My first visit to Kandolia Temple during the Kandolia Mela was truly an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was electric — the roads were filled with football fans, with matches playing all over the streets, inside and outside the mela. It was such a unique blend of cultural celebration and local passion for the sport. Despite the huge crowd, the temple darshan was peaceful and serene. Inside the temple, it felt calm and spiritual — a beautiful contrast to the buzz outside. Hats off to the volunteers who were managing the crowd and arrangements so well. Everything was organized, and people were being guided with care and patience. Took blessings inside the temple and received Prasad, which was distributed later in the evening. It was heartwarming to see that even with such a massive crowd, there was enough Prasad for everyone, prepared in large quantities and given generously. Overall, Kandolia Temple during the mela is a must-visit — for its vibrant energy, spiritual calmness, and the incredible effort put in by the organizers and community.

Kandolia temple is situated in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. It is one of the two famous temples in the city. The other being the temple of Lord Shiva which is just 1 km from Kandolia temple. It is well connected by road and is 3 km from city centre. The place is quite safe. It is situated in the dense forest of Oak and Pine trees on Kandolia hills. In front of the temple, there is a park which witnesses good footfall. If you are visiting Pauri, you must visit these two temples. Entry and car parking is free. You can visit here throughout the year. In winters, the place receives snowfall. In summers too, the weather is pleasant. You have to climb a few steps in order to reach the temple.
