Keshav Prayag is the point where the Saraswati River flows silently because of the curse given by Lord Ganesha. Here, it meets the Alaknanda River, then vanishes in the underground and thereafter only its name appears in the confluence of rivers at Allahabad Sangam.
As per legend- while narrating, the Saraswati river was flowing in full glory which was causing issues to Ganesh ji as he could not hear properly. Vedvyas ji requested Saraswati maa to slow down but was unable to do so, Vyas ji cursed Saraswati that she would vanish and no one would know about her.
Just 100 meters from Ganesh Gufa, the Saraswati River flows for 700 meters and meets with Alaknanda and then it becomes Alaknanda and Saraswati Nadi no longer exists. it directly emerges at Prayagraj (Allahabad) Sangam but that too under the water.
