One of the favourite place of people visiting nainital. The biggest scam. The scam starts from mall road(driver have connection with horse riders there). Happened with me, don't know about others. The horse ride is 810 per person per horse. The driver lures it and makes it to 800 with an old gentleman greeting you. What they don't tell you is there is a steep climbing up (most preferred way is trekking there). The whole journey is for 810. No doubt horses are nice and have real power but still, they are animals. Climbing a steep inclination over their back is nightmare. And thinking of coming down on them is same. We cancelled the trip by taking half way tour. Here comes the scam.. The old gentleman tells you to pay 800 per head and when reaching the horse stand, the gentleman is vanish. You stand in between people demanding 810. How much you pay, they count it as 815 (5 rupees per head to be returned after coming back). When u r back, boom.. the guy is vanished and you can't ask remaining money. They take whole journey ticket price beforehand by luring about the tiffin top view and all, and when you ride, they show you the way up the hill (literally steep climbing). So, you want just fun of horse ride, take half tour and rest half, walk
