The Cask Cafe And Bar — Restaurant in Nainital

It's been more than two years since I last visited the place so I don't know where it stands today.

The hospitality was great but the bar and bartender were disappointing.

Of course one doesn't expect fresh herbs and freshly squeezed juices as mixers - bars that go to such lengths are rare and can be counted on fingertips across all of North (and also charge a hefty amount)- but what i didn't appreciate was the overconfidence.

I am not sure in what bizarre world wine is supposed to cut artificial sugar from a Real Juice (which is just juice flavoured sugar syrup, really, so not really real). Wine itself is essentially fermentation of fructose in grapes. This just points to a lack of attention. They can't tell the difference between a customer pointing out 'excess sugar' in their drink as opposed to the 'taste' of sugar.

Food and hospitality was great. The sophisticated connoisseur may find the average patrons here to be dull and uninspiring.

And of course no half decent bartender is going to waste their life in a non descript bar of Nainital when they can make a decent amount of money in tips elsewhere.

Everything else was fine, washroom, cutlery, service, etc.

Well traveled people with a curated global palette won't find anything unique here, but for the regular stuff this place is fine.

Pathetic experience on New Year's eve. Had done booking and made payment of the same online. Once we (me and my husband) reached the place and asked them to change our sitting as it was right next to the door and that time there was hardly anyone but the staff refused and returned the booking amount. They didn't give any alternative option for the sitting not tried doing that. Then we took the owner's number to discuss with him, he told us he would get back to us with a solution and talk to his staff but he too didn't...

One of the few bars in nainital. Great resturant and a nice place to chill and hangout. This place has both indoor and outdoor dining, food is good and the service also fine. You can book this place for parties and gatherings. They have parking and is just opposite to cave garden. They have good variety of drinks and cocktails... if you want to go for a drink this is the perfect place but for dinner you might want to skip it .. the food is not great , both in taste...
