Mussorie Lake — Attraction in Uttarakhand

Its 6kms away from the main city and we had to rent a car to reach there. The entry ticket is Rs 12 per person and you have a climb down a few steps to reach the lake . The lake is an artificial lake built in the middle of the compound. All around the compound there are gift, game and food shops. There is a haunted house too. You can also do zip lining from the stairs till the lake, then you wouldnt have to climb down the stairs. The zip line is small and costs only 300 per person but the people working on the zip line are no professional . They will not give you any training and they stop you at the other end with a rope which is very abrupt and you might get a little hurt. The boating charges are Rs 60 per person but I would suggest that you do boating near bhatta falls, the lake there is quite big and prettier. You can also do zorbing and paragliding here. Mussoorie Lake

It is a man-made lake which was developed by City Board and the Mussoorie-Dehradun Developmental Authority.

The lake is placed at a scenic location about 6 km before Mussoorie on the Dehradun-Mussoorie Road. One can get down at Dhobi Ghat from where the lake is just at a walking distance. Surroundings of the lake include the mesmerizing views of Doon Valley and the verdant hills of Mussoorie.

There are pedalled boats to enjoy the calmness of the lovely lake. It is a perfect picnic spot for family and couples to spend fun and quality time. Monsoon is the best time to visit the as the lake looks most beautiful during that time of the year.

There is a nominal entry fees and the lake is open all days of the year. Shops offering refreshments are there to provide refreshments to the visitors.
