Shivpuri Beach — Attraction in Uttarakhand

Shivpuri is about 12 km from Aloha Rishikesh towards Badrinath National Highway. The highway from Rishikesh starts going upwards along side the Ganges till you reach Shivpuri, a small establishment with restaurants, a liquor store, bungee jumping, hotels etc. However you need to cross that and go ahead couple kilometers to reach this riverside beach. You need to park your car on the highway and walk down to the awesome beach. This beach is clean, has golden sand and the pristine Ganges flowing by. This is not a picnic spot and non-vegetarian food and alcohol is NOT allowed here. It’s against the law since Ganges is considered a sacred river in India. River rafting initiates from this place amongst many points. Do not carry valuables and gadgets, not because of theft but because of the river! Locals are pleasant and friendly.
