Tarun Corbett — Attraction in Uttarakhand

Sometimes when you live a day in the company of people (such as Tarun Corbett...or Tarun The Tarzan as I would like to remember him) as if you lived lifetime!!

Meeting someone like Tarun Bhatt (Tarun Corbett....and now I propose to call him as Tarun the Tarzan / T cube) cannot be by chance, but you should choose him! I am glad I met someone like him, who gave me more than what I could seek, in terms of his life's experiences and his passion for passing on the knowledge he has gained in the process.

At Corbett, he is more than just a name. Call him an Ex-Army novice stinter, safari guide ( loved journeying with him today 12th June) or a naturalist, environmentalist, Ornithologist (one who studies birds), or Taekwondo martial arts trainer), Passionate lover (who bonded with the love of his life very recently), Moon gazer (loved watching over the far side of the moon on 11th June thru his binoculars).

Just as luck could have it, we couldn't spot the great Bengal tiger during our Safari. Nevertheless, I look forward to meeting Tarun Corbett (or Tarun the Tarzan..as I propose to call him) sooner than later... Cheers & much thanks to you...

Me, my wife Sonia and my younger son Jorden participated in the National Expedition Ymca Feb(1-5)2025 at Jim Corbett National Wildlife Reserve, Uttarakhand. Ymca Families from states like Sikkim, Delhi, Nagpur in the North to A.P, T.N , Kerala to name a few came. Some families having participated many times but some like us for the first time. Tarun Bhatt was our recommended Travel Naturalist. Tarun is polite, multilingual, passionate and knowledgeable about the natural vegetation, Birds-Animal Wildlife, an asset to all of us. The Tiger didn't make an appearance even though we travelled the length and breadth of the Jungle Safari (thankfully)! But a distant roar and a fresh paw print in front of our jeep showed that he was nearby, but met plenty of other wild animals and that was enough for me. The Landscape is Picture perfect and Tarun's innate knowledge of the countryside and bustling town steeped in Heritage created for US a captivating panorama. My Memorable Experiences of the Trip !! We had a terrific day today... saw the big 3's - the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger 🐅 in all his glory, a very rare sighting of a Leopard 🐆 and a herd of elephants 🐘 .. it was a totally fulfilling day.. our guide Tarun said in his career of 7 yrs in this forest it was his 1st time too to spot a Leopard 🐆 His expertise in hearing the calls and ability to spot the animals was unparalleled. At the beginning of the trip he instructed the driver to drive in the 1st gear stating that this is the only way we will spot animals. He patiently took us for a full 4 hour safari ride thru the Dhela zone educating us and the kids about the jungle, the animals and the birds. Big thumbs up and thank you to you Tarun.
