As a Google Maps Local Guide and urban space critic, I find Craig Park (Bipin Behari Ganguly Park / ক্রেগ পার্ক) to be a serene and culturally significant green space in Halisahar. Situated along Ghosh Para Rd, the park offers picturesque views of the Hooghly River, making it a favored spot for morning walks, family outings, and quiet reflection. Highlights: Scenic Riverside Location: The park's proximity to the Ganges provides a refreshing ambiance, with cool breezes and a calming environment. Well-Maintained Walkways: Paved paths lined with mature trees offer shaded areas ideal for walks and relaxation. Family-Friendly Amenities: A dedicated children's play area and ample seating make it suitable for visitors of all ages. Community Engagement: The park serves as a communal space where locals gather for leisure and social activities. Areas for Improvement: Cleanliness: While the main areas are maintained, some corners accumulate litter, indicating a need for more regular cleaning and public awareness campaigns. Signage and Information: The absence of clear signage regarding park rules, timings, and facilities can be confusing for first-time visitors. Safety Measures: Enhanced lighting in peripheral areas and visible security personnel would improve safety during evening hours. Conclusion: Craig Park stands as a testament to Halisahar's commitment to preserving green spaces and providing residents with a place to unwind. With focused efforts on maintenance and visitor information, it has the potential to become a model urban park in the region.

Best place for morning walk during morning time. And any body can also do meditation as there is ample amount of fresh air because the park is beside the river ganga and from there huge amount of fresh air comes to the park.It is also good for evening roaming with family or girlfriend or friend . Very much eco friendly place .During evening huge amount of couples also came to the park. But the park closes at 8'0 clock in the evening. There is good no of food centres outside the park with delicious food.

Great place to relax after whole working day.great view of the sun setting behind the chimneys beside the Ganga. But there should be more dustbins. As the benches get the heat from setting sun they become very hot to sit on them.fue to lack of lights some anti socials are meeting here.So there is chances of criminal activity.I think the antisocial/the youngsters who want some privacy they break the lights themselves to create darkness.so some arrangements should be done.

The history of Halisahar, a busy industrial town on the northern fringes of North 24-Parganas, dates back to pre-Mughal days. The name Halisahar is apparently derived from “haveli ka sahar”, meaning the city of palaces.

Sadly, the havelis have not survived the test of time but a small terracotta temple complex still stands, despite centuries of neglect.

Halisahar is the birthplace of religious reformer Ramprasad Sen. A Kali temple built by him, which has been converted into a modern structure, gets lot of visitors throughout the year.

The complex, popularly known as Baranda Gali-r Shib Mandir, houses four temples, two of which have been restored by the state archaeology department.

To the left of the entrance lies the Nandakishore temple, the primary attraction in the compound. Built by local landlord Madangopal Roy in 1743, the temple has intricate terracotta panels.

The panel above the arched entrance contains an elaborate battle scene from the Ramayan, with an image of Garuda at the centre. The panels on the walls depict several deities, including a multi-headed Shiva sitting on...

This park has free entry for all.. it remains open everyday from 4pm to 8 pm.. the park is divided into three stages or layers which makes it very unique. the first or the topmost layer has many rides for children to play and seats for their parents to sit.. many kids come here to play and it a very good place to bring your kids. the second layer has an area to walk with seats under trees. mainly old people sit here and talk or do yoga. the third layer is a long stretch of a walking alley with many seats just in front of the ganga waters , mainly young people sit here and spend time with their friends.. the veiw from this place is amazing. as it caters to all generations it is the best family park in this region.. there are plenty of options to reach this place from kanchrapara such as bus no. 85, direct toto or auto...there are many food stalls just outside the park -selling ice cream, phucka, egg roll, chowmin, chaat, cold drinks...
