A must visit for every Indian according to me. This is the house where Rishi Bankim Chandra wrote the immortal partiotic song "Vande Mataram". The house is totally renovated, a part of it still retains the original design and architecture. But the family temples are still there, a pancharatna shiva temple and the temple of family deity Radhaballav jew along with the traditional Rath(chariot) are still intact. The building houses a library, an auditorium and a research center. A nine day festival and mela takes place every year during Ratha Jatra Festival. This place is equipped with a number of things to showcase that would attract visitors. Along with Bankim Chandra himself there are some things that commemorate some other pioneer Bengalis of his time. But the management and the maintenance is not up to the mark.
