If you’re exploring New Town, Kolkata, and want a break from malls and cafes, there’s a beautiful temple complex just a stone’s throw away from Silicon Valley Crossing that’s absolutely worth a visit.
The moment you walk in, the first thing that catches your eye is the 150-foot-tall Hanuman statue towering over the complex—it’s truly a sight to behold! Along with Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, the temple also has shrines dedicated to Jagannath, Shiva, Hanuman, and many other deities. The main Shri Ram temple is especially stunning, and there’s even a section dedicated to Rajasthani deities.
The whole place feels like a growing spiritual hub—there are already plenty of temples and idols, and many more are still being built. You’ll also find a goshala (cowshed), rooms for devotees to stay in, and even a statue of Shyam Ji Khatua, the devotee who made this dream a reality.
👉 How to reach: The easiest way is to get to Eco Park Gate No. 4 and hop on a toto (e-rickshaw). Super convenient! 👉 Timings: Open till 9 p.m., though it does close for a short break in the afternoon. 👉 Entry fee: None – it’s completely free.
Evenings here are especially peaceful. The sound of bhajans fills the air, and it’s the perfect time to just sit quietly and soak in the spiritual vibes.
A couple of things to keep in mind: the complex is relatively small, so it can feel a bit crowded, and if you don’t have your own car, getting transport back late at night might be tricky. That said, there are plenty of food stalls inside if you feel like grabbing a bite.
⏳ Verdict: If you’ve got an hour to spare in New Town, this temple is a lovely spot to unwind and connect with a calmer side of the city. Not grand in scale like some other temples, but warm, welcoming, and full...
Read moreI can just say that this place is something else. Some different vibe, refreshing aura, helpful people, good pandits, when you entre with the entrance, first you will see Sanidev ji' Murti, then after that you can be able to see Bajrang Bali big Murthi and after that you can see our devo ke Dev mahadev's Murtha is also very tall and after that you can be able to see Mata who used to get a sawari of matshya. All these are situated at the right side of the area after you cross the entrance. There are puja shops present too and if you want to have some snacks also then that is also avaliable. This is not the end of my description. After this, We have aur Surya Devta with his seven horses and then comes our Shree Ram ji and Sita mata's entrance and the temple. Very soothing environment. If you enter there specially I have seen pandit ji's are very kind. In my 3 times visit here, I am just so much connected with this place. Just opposite of the Shree Ram Mandir Temple, We have Khatu Shyam ji's temple as well that is also very bhavya. And the most important part is I visited around 11:30 AM To 12 PM IST time and that time I got a golden opportunity to visit and enjoy Aarthi also. If you come out from there than you have Baba Bageshwar ji's Shiv ling Darshan more inside of this place. As of now I have seen and noticed only these things but I am just in love of...
