One of the most revered and visited places, this temple dedicated to Sri Maha Prathyangara Devi is located at Sholinganallur. This temple is at a distance of 11 kms from Thiruvanmiyur bus stand and on the branch road (1 km) connecting ECR and OMR at the 10th km. Considered to be a very powerful God which is relied upon by devotees to ward off evils and black magic curses. This temple is similar to Ayyavadi temple, near Kumbakonam. In addition to the main deity of Prathyangara, the temple has Sannadhis of Sarabeswarar, Varahi Devi, Guruvayurappan, Indrakshi, Agni, Narasimha, Mahalakshmi, Annapoorani, Saneeswar, Ganesa, Subramanya, Gayathri, Shakthi, Neela Saraswathi, Suryanarayana. You can just visit the temple or do pooja and abhishekham to Prathyangara Devi and Varahi Devi on prior booking at the temple on phone or visit. (Caution: There is no web site of temple, remember, to accept donation or advance payments for pooja etc). For Abhishekham you can enter temple at 6 a.m. and for others entry timing is at 8 a.m. There is a big Kali idol standing with all weapons causing fear on enemies but showering blessings blessing on her devotees Your visit to the temple will certainly bring peace on family and there will not be fear on enemies and bad elements. You can sit in front of Devi and pray to get a feel of deep satisfaction and protection of Goddess. Sundays and Amavasya days are more crowded. Visit with family and get blessed. Read moreTemple runs business.. oil you can not take it from outside.. you have to buy from them.. for the number of people buying and pouring.. the lamp should overflow.. but cleverly ,managed to mint money.. madi manjal..another money minting concept.. keep 7 to 8 ,manjal in a bag..sell for 50 rs.. you are not allowed to either open or take it outside..because its a recylcing business..you have to submit it in the sannidhi.. they will recycle it next day again to the store.. if they sell approximately 100 bags a day on an average and 25 days a month 7.5 lakhs per month for expenses of 6000 rs.. great business minded temple.. but definitely good place to worship.. well maintained. serene atmosphere.. just dont buy anything from them...Manager,,staffs are rude, loud mouthed people...i am not sure whether the founder of this temple is aware of such behaviour of their staffs.
