Horrible place to visit. Seriously, is anyone even managing this place?
The blue lake was good, but there is also another lake nearby that has unused tourist boat things that are sinking in the middle of it. Pretty much looking abandoned.
The safety is horrendous, the cliff border fences fell off where it's supposed to be on the sliding grounds.
The entry was (I think) 2k, but no one checks anyone on the entrance. No one checks the safety, so if you see a criminal coming inside with guns or knives, don't be surprised.
Intolerant place. There was this kiosk that blasts the entire place with islamic religious songs, my muslim friends were even seriously bugged with it blasting so loud, I even recorded it going past 72 dB. Past the safe 70 dB threshold. There were many non-muslim visitors and they were all pretty bummed about it. It was incredibly bugging that I saw a bunch of people entering and not even 8 minutes later getting out of the place.
I couldn't imagine people having big expectations with this potential tourist place have to be disappointed, like myself and these people.
This place needs investigation or...
Read moreThe best time to visit is around midday on a clear sunny day. It will be slippery during the rain, and the green-blue-ish water might not in sight. The easiest way to go to the lake is by renting car with local driver (if you do not have friends or family in the island). Children on the spot must be under adults supervision at all time, because the lake is very steep with minimal fence to provide sufficiebt protection. The local stalls at one side of the lake provides snacks and drinks, and perhaps durians (seasonal). For durians, you have to be careful because once you open up a durian, the seller expected you to have it and pay, regardless the taste. Availability of waste basket was almost none, and the carelessly discarded waste made the surrounding dirty. It is advised to bring own your waste out of...
Read moreVisited this place on weekdays afternoon. There are 2 kaolin lakes: the blue and green one. Both of them are amazing. The beautiful color came from mineral mining, since this lakes are former area of mining. Do not forget to take some pictures here!
Unfortunately, I don’t think this place is managed properly. When I came here, there were no people at the ticket counter or people guarding this tourist spot. There are also several duck boats that look abandoned and unkempt. I do really hope that the government will take care of this place more because it has potential to be a tourism...
