This three floor building was built with a ‘Tulou' (ancient mud house) style. On the ground floor is the entrance, hall and souvenir shop plus convenient shop, the Tionghoa Museum located on the first floor, while the Hakka Museum on the second floor. Despite the size of this building, it can hardly be seen from the main road, because it is located at the South end of Tionghoa Cultural Park.
The Hakka Museum is a modern and very sophisticated building, it is clean and comfortable, there are 2 lifts in the building. You can find some of the Hakka culture memoribilia, their style of interior, and their architecture. The Hakka Museum on the second floor only half of the museum that I found interest, for the rest half of the museum mostly contained pictures or poster of the credited figures or company that may sponsored for the building process of this museum.
Overall I think this is a very interesting place to visit, a place to learn about the assimilation between the Chinese culture and the Indonesian...
Read moreHuge museum that displays the history of Chinese Indonesians, their contribution to Indonesia and their culture. The exhibit is mainly located on the second and third floor. The building has a unique circular shape. The displays are very informative especially those who are interested in Chinese Indonesian culture, written in Indonesian, English and occasionally Chinese. Entrance is free of charge but the museum is slightly secluded so you have to take the bus/rent a bicycle to reach there. There is a huge display of Chinese surnames at the entrance and it's fun to try spot yours.
Highly recommended to all Chinese Indonesians and all people who are interested in learning Chinese...
