My wife and I checked in at 1155 hrs the reception for our 1256 hrs tee off time, and everything was slick from the start. Out first impressions were good. We then proceeded to head down for food from the cafe 1 floor down.

Then the issues came and the management of this club is not doing their job.

We ordered the food at 12.05pm and waited till 12.50pm before the food came. Mie Goreng Ayam and Gado Gado. These are like the simplest foods to prepare for lunch??!! We wolfed down what we could and returned the gado gado with a stern word to the waiting staff. We barely made it for the 12.56pm tee time...... terrible service

Buggy despatch area was a mess. Starters shouting at caddies, dozens of people milling around not sure of what they're doing. It was mayhem

Finally got our caddies, Ibu Winda and Ibu Widya. Both were very good and fun. Very encouraging to my wife as she just started golf 3 months ago. Played with a pair of Australians from Perth, Andy and Blackie. Great fun. We had to finish after 9 holes as we had a dinner to go to at 6.30pm

Now the most painful experience. I made a u-turn with the buggy and scraped the side the vehicle. Easy repair job, some kiwi and gloss over and it'll look brand new. Scrub the tire too, with soap and water, kiwi it too and you wouldn't even be able to tell that there was a minor accident. After 9 holes, we went back to the club house and a few managers came out to look at the damage. They said that the front pane for the wind-shield had the caveat if something goes wrong with the buggy, it is your responsibility. WHO READ WHAT'S ON THE WINDSHIELD, ESPECIALLY IF IT'S FOLDED HALF DOWN???!!! Super bunch of hum-hee-hawing LATER for 10 minutes and then we were told to wait for another 10 minutes for the "expert" to give us his guesstimation and the cost of repair, which was totally arbitrary. We waited another 20 minutes, the expert comes , muses and say 500,000 rupiah for the repair. My wife comes back and says Rp 250,000. He sticks at his original amount and my wife says to him, "you're not giving us any face", which basically means you don't really care about customer service. This EXPERT then told my wife, "I will give Rp250,000 and you repair the golf cart"! TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL

One of the managers, after I gave him a hard time and proceeded to take it out on the caddies. Saying to them did they inform the golfers of the liability warning from the windshield. Ibu Widya said she was never told about it and had never read it. I don't blame her. The words are small and it is the responsibility of the starter to inform golfers of the careless driving consequences

The front desk pretended that they cared and asked me to come back to talk, but the damage was done and I left USD100 to cover the damages, but we will never go back to the terrible golf course and I'll do my best to discourage everyone from ever trying to play there. Anyone who is considering playing at the NKGB, please think twice. Your whole day could be so easily ruined by a bunch of disorganized and unpleasant management staff.

No regards and no best...

Very bad experience at this golf course. First time I have left after only playing 9 holes. I booked as a single at 6:00am. First tee time of the day. The check in, pro shop and restaurant were friendly and helpful. Was paired with another single who was a great guy. Drove to the 10th tee box (back 9 start) and was chatting with my playing partner getting to know each other. Caddies told us to tee off and we said it’s dark, can we wait. They said no go ahead. We hit our tee shots and couldn’t see a thing. Drove up and found my ball in the bunker but could not find the other guys ball. Kind of annoying but whatever. By the time we hit our approaches you could see. So probably had to wait 5 minutes. My caddie was not very friendly or helpful but I could tell she was new so not a big deal. Everybody has to start somewhere. Got to the 4th hole and 2 carts drove up with a couple who was to join us. Very strange for someone to join mid round and would not happen at courses in Canada. Couple was very slow and did not understand golf etiquette. Drove to the 5th hole and greenskeepers were working on the green. Waited for them to punch a new hole and then was told to proceed but they were mowing the green and had left cut grass all over it. Greenskeepers were on every green after this and we had to putt through cut grass for the remainder of the back 9. I decided to leave after the 18th hole to my caddies surprise. I had about 50,000 idr in my pocket and gave it to my caddie. She informed me that it was minimum 150,000 idr for every 9 holes. I told her no as I was not happy with the service or the course conditions and that I paid for 18 holes and only played 9 so she could go get the rest of her tip from the pro shop. Was going to leave but was told to stay which really irritated me. She called over a manager and I explained all the issues to her. She asked my caddie if it was all true and she agreed that it was. Then I was told sorry and to have a good day. Definitely not worth the $300 cad for round and club rentals which were about 10 year old rusted titleist clubs. Golf at Bali National instead. I was there the day before and had a great time. My caddie was amazing and course...

Nice course. Caddies are good with line, yardage, and putt reads. Counter staff at welcome are robotic. Golf shop dismal. Restaurant staff acceptable. Pace of play is intolerable. Played 4 days as single at 0630. Finish at 0845. First two days were ok for 2nd 18 which was ~4 hrs. 2nd two days was clear they don’t manage the course, but just observe and act as there is no control of play. The 4th day was national holiday and they had tournament at 1230. The day before they said last tee time was 0700 because all golfers had to be off course at 1200, so reasonable to believe get another round in before noon. 3rd nine took more than 2.5 hours. Actually stood on tee box on #4 and watched a 7-ball group tee off on number 5. 7!!!! Seems that because there was slow play ahead, two groups joined up to move on. Seems dealing with slow play was out of the question. Ahead of us we’re two 2-balls that, despite the situation remained separate while we watched them tee off on every hole - BOTH of them. Instead of combining, they “didn’t want to join together” to sped up play - I asked. So after the interminable 1st 9 of second round, I have an hour to finish last nine before 1200. Reasonable to do, if there’s no traffic. Needless to say, it would never happen. So after 2 holes, back to club house. Only to learn, HAD UNTIL 1230 to finish, which was possible. It was infuriating. Then I get back to clubhouse and due to tournament o empty tables and even though most had only 1 or 2 people, they wouldn’t accommodate a squatter. So I LITERALLY sat on some steps and had a beer. Not a single person who worked there seemed to care.

So, it’s a good course. Diverse holes. Challenging greens. If you want to have an enjoyable round that is not hit/wait/hit/wait/repeat, then you best get out before 0800. Otherwise, you’re in for 5+ hours of tortuous waiting.

Also, after playing 6+ rounds and having issues on the 3rd day and being told the gm would be in touch - nothing. So, nice to (not) meet you general manager and good to know you recognize when it’s good to engage...

Very disappointing. I was looking forward to playing golf here especially after reading all the reviews about the magnificent views. In reality, there are only 2 holes which have good coastal views ie holes 14 and 15. The rest of the holes are to be honest - rather boring. The course is in average condition especially considering the money you pay. The layout whilst challenging is again uninteresting. There were a few things that I did not like in particular - apart from the price ie $245 AUD for 18 holes and club hire. The first was the speed of play. It took 4 and ¾ hours to play just 14 holes - which is ridiculous. I left as I had a dinner appointment that night. The second issue was the cost of the caddy. Normally the price of a caddy is a voluntary. Not here. I was told the minimum cost was 250,000 rupiah. This was not included as part of the advertised pricing when I booked. I appreciate that this amount is only $25 AUD but I took exception to the fact that this was the minimum price. The third being the hype over the fantastic coastal views. Yes they are very good but you can only see them from the 14th green and the 15 tee box. All the other 16 holes are uninspiring. The last issue is the location. I takes 90 minutes to get to the course from Legian/Seminyak. There is only 1 road in and out and the traffic is horrendous. My recommendation is to play Bali National instead - rather than this course. The 3 photos I have included are the best location/view photos of the course. I did not take any photos of any other holes.

Overall a disappointing golf club. The golf course had some decent holes next to the coast with beautiful oceanic views. The other holes were average and unfortunately some holes had people working on the greens which was a disappointment as there was no mention of this and no reduction in green fees. (See picture attached) The driving range was poor, the balls were poor quality and the standing/hitting surface was atrocious. There was barely any grass and what was left was an uneven mess. Also, you couldn’t use a driver on the range which seemed pretty strange. The pro shop was also a disappointment. The stock level was high but this comes to no surprise as the prices were extortionate. All of the things we looked at were even more expensive than the UK. The caddies we had with us were very friendly with a good sense of humour. We enjoyed their company and made the experience more enjoyable. However, unfortunately their knowledge on golf wasn’t great and some reads on the greens were off but overall their presence was appreciated. Without the oceanic view holes and the polite and friendly caddies I think the golf club is just a big disappointment for how expensive it is to play. It just seems like a massive cash grab from tourists. If you’re in Bali and wanting to play some golf, I wouldn’t recommend this place, unless you want to waste your money and time. There appears to be better options on the island.

I did have higher expectations for the course, considering how much they charge for green fees. No one had mentioned that a few of the greens were being cored. The suggested tipping for the caddies was more mandatory than "suggested". The caddies were helpful and did deserve a tip, but they should probably just be paid more so they didn't need to be tipped. I would suggest eating prior to arriving as the food was not very good. If you drink coffee and drink it with anything other than normal milk, then be prepared to be disappointed as they only have normal milk. Bingtangs are double the price more than anywhere else. The clubs for hire are pretty outdated also, not worth the price they are charging. For 10 used balls, you're looking at 200,000rp and club hire is 500,000rp. No sharing of clubs is allowed either. There was some nice scenic views around the 15th hole for photos. Worth checking it out if you like golf, but I probably won't be going there again any time soon.
