This place is not so far from Kuta. We took a scooter from Puri Rinjani hotel. It was a very short ride, but almost the entire journey is through a bumpy and a narrow road. But, I am pretty sure that there is an alternative way from the beach side as well. We went there in the month of July which is the dry season of Lombok and therefore, the Bukit Merese mountain was not so green, rather was brownish and dusty. I would love to see the greenish mountain though. However, even I am not sure about the perfect time of the year when it is green and lively.

We parked our bike at a local house nearby. The family was friendly and they even sell beverages, so that you can enjoy the sunset with a beer if you wish so. However, they charge a little amount for parking there but they will even take care of your helmets, so that you don’t have to carry them with you up to the mountain.

We watched the sunset and the view is breathtaking, one of the best sunsets I have seen in my entire life. There were a few tourists and also locals watching the sunset. The path to the mountain is a bit steep and can be a little slippery at some points with the gravel and the dry land surface. But the total track is approximately 150 meters.

Visiting this place was such a rewarding experience and I would heartily recommend anyone who go to Kuta to visit Bukit...
