English-Indonesia It's awesome. It's a replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma, Myanmar. It's the second highest replica after Burma and it's the highest pagoda in Indonesia and it recorded as a MURI (Indonesian Record Museum). It's worth it to visit and recommended place for religious tourism. The place is reachable and we can go there by any transportation. There is no entrance fee but you should give some fee for maintaning. There are some regulations like take off your sandals/shoes and put it on the place provided and do not bring your food and beverages. We can find a toilet and many small stores and booths which sell food and beverages close to there. If you travel to Berastagi, don't forget to come here!
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA golden pagoda located about 1,5-2 hours away from Medan. The road up to the path leading to this location is good, but once you pass the entrance it feels like going on an off-road. The signage to this place needs to be renewed as the writing has faded. You will pass a lot of strawberry fields, which is also a tourist attraction, where you can pick your own strawberries. As for the pagoda, personally, I have a different feel to it compared to the pagodas Iāve visited, this place didnāt feel much like a place to pray. Could because no one was praying at that moment or usually it would quiet and silent, meanwhile, people were still busy taking pictures, laughing, talking and whatnot in the pagoda. There is also some wishing tree on each corner, where you can write your wishes and hang it on the tree. We wanted to write, however, there was no paper nor did we bring. So, if you plan to drop a wish, I would suggest to bring your own...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe road to get there was alright until u arrived at the first entrance where the road was far from smooth. I cannot believe that this is how the road is to the biggest working buddhist temple in Indonesia it said and the 2nd biggest in South East Asia. Temple itself was pretty with pretty garden on the side. Unfortunately due to my visit time was on public holiday the temple was not open for public(it is close for public on Sunday and on public holidays), but you're free to explore outside the temple. You can also dressed up with korean national dress and have your picture taken. There is a small shop where u can buy ice cream(I would think water and snack as well, but not sure coz I didn't look around that part) and public bathrooms that probably need...
