Nestled beneath towering rocks lies a secluded beach accessible solely via a weathered, steep staircase. The descent to this hidden gem is devoid of railings, adding an element of adventure to the journey. It takes approximately 15 minutes to navigate down the staircase, while the ascent back up can range from 20 to 30 minutes, depending on one's pace. Despite the challenging access, the beach boasts pristine sands, although the path leading down is strewn with numerous stones. During high tide, the beach becomes almost entirely submerged, revealing its rocky bottom and showcasing the power of the crashing waves that grace its shores. It's worth noting that after 3 pm, the sun dips below the horizon, making sunbathing a less viable option for visitors. However, the unique beauty and tranquility of the beach remain unchanged, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Additionally, an entrance fee of 5,000 Indonesian Rupiah is required to access this...
Read moreI visited Suwehan Beach today and the place was dreamy. Down in the beach the view is super beautiful and there is a high possibility that you're there alone. They have not fixed the stairs yet, but it is still possible to access the beach since the stairs are not completely destroyed. There are lots of stairs and some of them are broken. Some parts of the stairs don't have handrails (only ropes). I would not recommend going there if you have any health issues or if you're scared of heights. At some parts the stairs are quite steep. Also, with kids I would definitely not go there because it's so dangerous and hard to go there and back. The waves can get quite big and there might be a current, so I would not recommend swimming there. There was no entrance fee to the beach. On the parking lot there is a small kiosk where they sell cold...
Read moreBeautiful beach under impressive cliffs. Only recommended if you have a decent level of fitness as well as hiking and scooter riding experience. Make sure to get there after high tide. Otherwise you may get trapped on the beach. After leaving the main road at Tanglad, there's at least 30 min pretty bad and steep road to Suwehan village. You'll get fuel, food and drinks at the beach parking. The (20-30 mins) climb down is pretty steep but supported by concrete steps and ropes. Climb slowly and carefully but don't let yourself be scared off. No real issue to do it with Flip-flops or even barefoot. You will also need to climb over a few rocks. The beach is quite pretty and hardly anybody there. Sun addicts beware: We were there beginning October and almost the entire beach was in the shade...
