This is great potential tourist spot. There are improvements that can be made such as creating more literature for tourists to read about n understand about the Dayak culture that makes use of such impressive architecture to house whole tribes. There can be more cafe with more souvenir shops on the ground floor. We got here n the only available literature was locked up! Even the rooms we all shut ... Can at least mock up a couple of rooms to show how life was or still is being carried out in such long houses. Impressive indeed ... Albeit it's a modern version with all the concrete but it's truly representative of the awesome local culture that is so diverse in Pontianak. The entrance fees is more like a parking fee. If cafes selling local brews n shops selling local souvenirs or snacks are around would be a really great place to hang around with the nice open space n the cool shade under the long house. There is tremendous room for improvement ... Truly show case the local culture.

One of the largest Dayaknese traditional house which is located in West Borneo. The name of the house "Radakng" means long. Each side of the building shows the beautiful sculpture and special Dayaknese pattern. It is absolutely one of must visit and iconic place in Pontianak. Some special events or exhibition usually held in the basement if the building, the higher level building mostly built in wooden material. It is also a place for cultural annual occasion such as Gawai. Take your time here because it is also a very instagrammable place to visit. for your additional information, you need to pay for the parking fee.

I think it wil better if there's a schedule of performance in this long house. At least there's music of dayaknese, boothstand and opening hall, so the tourists are able to enjoy the dayaknese atmosphere around. They are not only take pictures of the building. As i know almost Everyday tourists come there. And the building also looks didz get any attention, because the colour of the every doors in the building has removed. This pic is my friend from Philippines. He's very curious what is there inside.

The museum thingy wasn’t opened on the day we were there so we were only able to see the outside of the long house. And to be fair, the stairs and handles needed maintenance!!! There was parts of the handles missing and the middle wooden stairs were in bad condition 🫥 I almost got a heart failure when one of the wood on the platform went up and I genuinely thought I’m gonna fall all the way down 🥶

Nothing much to see here as it is just a big community hall with traditional Dayak design. I've seen a more traditional yet informative replica of Dayak longhouse at Sarawak Cultural village in Malaysia. Nonetheless, for fellow instagrammers or avid photographers, this would be a nice place for you to take some good photos. Entrance fee is free.

Big and beautiful traditional house of Dayak tribe, the origin tribe of people in Pontianak. Opened for public on July 2013, the house looks pretty abandoned these days. The carvings were tampered and some areas are closed for public even during weekends. Parking fee for car is Rp 3000 and no cover charge for one to enter the premise.
