Museum Stasiun Kereta Api Sawahlunto — Attraction in Sawahlunto

I visited the Museum Kereta Api Sawahlunto last week and I was impressed by the history and heritage of the railway in Sumatra Barat. The museum is located in a former railway station that was built in 1894 by the Dutch colonial government to transport coal from the Ombilin mines. The museum displays various locomotives, carriages, and artifacts related to the railway, as well as information panels and videos that explain the development and significance of the railway in the region. One of the highlights of the museum is the Mak Itam, a steam locomotive that was used to haul coal from Sawahlunto to Muarakalaban. The Mak Itam is still operational and sometimes offers rides to visitors weekly at Sunday.

The museum is well-maintained and has friendly staff who are willing to answer questions and share stories. The entrance fee is very affordable and there are also souvenir shops and food stalls nearby. The museum is open from 8 am to 5 pm every day, except on Mondays when it is closed. I recommend this museum to anyone who is interested in learning more about the history and culture of Sumatra Barat, especially the railway industry that shaped its economy...

Tempat nya seru ya, keren banget buat lokasi foto - foto. Bener-bener khas gitu, authentic. Jadi kalau kamu foto disini dan dipajang di sosial media masing-masing, semua bakal tau kalau lokasi nya disini. Ga bakalan ketuker deh, meskipun kadang jodoh pun bisa ketuker. Untuk view dan kenyamanan, disarankan kesini abis shalat mahrib gitu biar ga kena panas matahari sore, kan lokasi nongkrong nya outdoor. Meski disini juga disediakan kursi di dalam gerbong, tetap aja kan maunya yang diluar. Untuk menu sih biasa aja ya, ga ada tuh something special disini. Jadi meskipun ada menu yang ditulis mirip dengan menu di coffee shop, jangan ber ekspektasi terlalu tinggi ya. Dibalik itu ada nilai tambah dari pelayanan yang ramah dan cepat tanggap.
