Bara beach is located in Tanjung Bira, Bulukumba regency, South Sulawesi. This beach is quite hidden in Bulukumba, and there are not many people recognize this place. Somehow, this place is perfect for those who need tranquility and peacefull place to go to.
Visiting Bara beach is about enjoying the flattering green of coconut trees along the edge of the beach. These trees are characterize the nuance of tropical land, with slope of 45 degrees, the trees are can be used to hang the swinger that been mounted by the visitors.To reach this beach we can pass through the edge of the beach when the tide is receding. Other option is can be done by choosing the narrow path with rocky steps along the little forest around the place.
We can start to visit this place at early in the morning, and then you will have enough time exploring before the dawn arise. This is also the thing that must be aware, in order to avoid wild animal that can be showing up during the night. But foreigner have to pay 40k entrance fee of tourist place. I've never experience anywhere they charge for natural beach. And I'm not happy when the guy explain because here is Indonesia. Hm...He could explain for enviroment protection or any reservation, we're willing to pay.But I do not agree that is nice way to atract tourist.
And the day we left, taxi driver bring us to senseless arguing which bring us more distance with Bira. Please be careful with this blue taxi in the picture below. He raised price from 80k to 100k with reason there is no more customers at the last bench. ( normally, space is for 3 people, that day only 2 of us ). Catch customers is his task, not our task. Why we have to be responsible !! In additional, the previous night, we didn't get any feedback from him when we booked via one guy from Bamboo Warung. We thought the price is fixed. How could we understand for that situation happened suddenly?!! And when we didn't agree, he bring our luggages back on the ground.
