First. So hard to find parking. They did not plan well for this part. We had to find a parking spot so far. But luckily we were picked up by a shuttle car.
And then thank god that we bought the ticket in advance via online. Because the queue line for ticket was super long. All had to do was show the QR code from our ticket purchase and we get in smoothly.
The whole day was raining, lack of shelter spots, and they canceled the animal education show because of the rain, which I was really looking forward to.
The staffs will ask to take pictures of you at multiple spots. Then you'll be given a ticket, for which then you can choose to claim all of your photos, with edited background and whatnot. I only took a photo with my gf in one spot, with 3 poses. This resulted in 16 different photos. To be able to acquire the soft file, you have to pay Rp. 165.000. And to get one printed photo in 10R size, you need to pay Rp. 155.000, and another 50 if you want the soft file as well. Total ripoff. Do not buy. Not worth it at all.
We ate at the restaurant, where you can eat right by the lion enclosure. Food are decent. Price are highly above average. Waiting time is NOT TOLERABLE. 2 hours for fish and chips. Will not come here again.
The collection of animals are limited compared to Gembira Loka zoo in Yogyakarta. Some enclosures seemed too small for the animal. A tolerable experience, not decent.
If you have extra money, I would recommend the VIP, which you can ride the cartrains from certain spot right to the exit gate. Because the walk was displeasing. It would be fine if I were walking while looking at animals. But no, almost 50% of the walk to the exit gate was no fun at all.
If you wanna come here, I would suggest doing so at weekdays. Use public transport. Buy the VIP ticket. Bring tripods to take photos of urself. If its the rainy season, bring umbrellas or ponchos. Bring ur own...

Extremely scanty variety of animals, more of people than the animals.
There was a long abandoned and dilapidated creepy alley with nothing to see except a corroded sign-board written Bengawan Solo Water Park. Wasting time and energy and nothing to see.
The animal show was closed a few moments after designated time even when the amphitheater was half empty, no sunshades, or whatsoever, human BBQ in hunnied degrees, lots of people skipped the show.
I asked for the map in a brochure cause my phone was low in a battery to scan and the reception she told me they don't have it but she gave it to the local next in line.
You need to pay additional for the restroom and NO WATER. The employees said: "Our water just stopped."
Came here from far away but received rubbish instead of warmly welcomed by the staff. The security in front of the main entrance was way too OVERBEARING and BOORISH! The manner was completely ABYSMAL! There was a passage for the people to walk through and that's the drop off point from the car, it's utterly ridiculous if you after out from the car must walk all the way far back behind just to enter, while the door is right in front of the drop-off point, besides no clear efficient arrangement only do not step on the grass was written. I found it the security itself stands there but he told my kid rudely to not step on the grass and blocked the way, which exactly right where he was standing (we didn't step on the grass cause there was a pavement for people to pass through). A few moments later, I saw the safari workers also pass that passage in the middle with pavement. Such...
Read moreI visited Solo Safari with my family and parents, a total of 5 people. We purchased the VIP Tour Experience package, which included a buggy adventure tour, feeding and photo opportunities, as well as food and beverages — all in one package.
The tour was conducted using a buggy car that comfortably accommodated 5 people, plus the tour guide who also served as the buggy driver. The guide provided detailed explanations during our visit to all the animal exhibits, which greatly enriched our knowledge. I believe the tour guide was a highly trained and experienced member of the safari crew. Kudos to him for an excellent job! Normally, the safari tour is conducted on foot, allowing visitors to read the presentation boards at each animal enclosure.
Although the variety of animals wasn’t as extensive as at Bogor Safari, the overall experience was good for the price.
One downside I noticed was during our visit to the restaurant. The air-conditioned seating area had already been reserved by other groups, so we had to sit in the non-air-conditioned section without any special dispensation offered to us. This was a bit disappointing.
Despite this, my family and I were happy with the visit. I noticed that some areas are still under development, and I hope they will be completed soon. I’m looking forward to revisiting in the future! 😃
Advise from me to visitors: avoid visit during...
