Kukup Beach is probably no stranger to the people of Jogja. It’s one of the more popular local spots for a beach getaway.
What makes this beach stand out is a huge coral rock sitting right near the shore. Honestly, it’s so big it almost looks like a two-story house—you could even call it a mini island.
The waves here aren’t too strong, so it’s relatively safe to play near the water. But do be careful—the rocks can get pretty slippery.
Facilities? Pretty complete. There are toilets, showers, and lots of small shops along the path to the beach. If you ever visit, don’t forget to grab some souvenirs from the local stalls—most of them sell delicious seafood-based products.
Oh, and don’t miss the hill right next to the beach! There’s a well-made concrete staircase leading up, and the view from the top is absolutely worth it.
