Visited during Idul Fitri holiday 2025. The place was nicely built with seating areas, and proper walking areas. Visitors were even provided with photo areas right in front of the waterfall. Parking space was spacious and vacant. Sadly, it was raining when we arrived there. No one was attending the ticket booth, no staff was visible.
Sodong Waterfall was not as small as we had predicted upon watching some youtube videos about it. Perhaps the heavy rain added more volume to the waterfall making it thunderous with spray of water gushing out from above. We could not stay too long because we were soaking wet standing in front of this majestic God's creation.
Sodong Waterfall was truly an attractive tourist destination which would have been more enjoyable for more people if only the road access had been prepared or better constructed. The 2-km-distance from the main road was very challenging. The small road had potholes everywhere and at the entrance point of the gate, the road gave in and created a 15 cm gap which our car could not go through anymore. Therefore, we had to park our car outside and walk 200m to the gate. We totally recommend for a road construction not just to fix the potholes but also to widen the size of the road so that it would fit for 2 cars from different directions considering it was the only available road for entering and exiting the waterfall.
TIPS: Not recommended for small cars, especially with low...
Read moreIt is one of the best place to heal yourself. It is located in a Ciletuh Geopark so the place is quite maintained. The place is build to attract tourist, they build amphitheater there and several cottages. Also this is the only way if you would like to visit Curug Cikanteh but you need to going up more to the hill and the track is the "real" forest tracking.
I would recommend anyone to visit this place during dry seasson rather than rainy seasson. As I was visiting during rainy seasson, the water contains a little amount of mud/soil hence the water color is not quite clear. But don't worry, it still clean as it is a pure mountain water.
The ticket entrance is voluntary, you can pay 5k, 10k or what ever you want. But as the building (maybe) will still being improved, they may charged a higher entrance ticket in a couple of months later. The parking ticket is 5k for motorcycle (dunno for cars).
Here, you can build a tent and have a camp besides the waterfall (though I didn't camp here at the time). The food price is very cheap, compared to Jkt and considering its location. The local people build stalls in the corner of the waterfall and sell noodles, meatballs, coffee, coconut and several snacks.
Overall, this place is worth to visit if you have a trip to...
Read moreSmall Flow because of the dry season. Access to neighbouring waterfall is very "natural". This site is practically rundown due to poor maintenance. Several areas need repairs and venerally dirty because of littering by idiot visitors who cannot identify rubbish bins if one literally was thrown at them. At time of visit no apparent guide to come explain and you only have a sign showing a brief explanation of prehistoric age-mapping
Kinda sux as a geopark feature
Parking for motorbike is 5.000. Plenty of local kiosks that sell snacks and drinks at a reasonable price
Entry fee is 5.000 per pax as per this post. They also accept qris payment which is a surprise.
Road access is damaged at the gate of the site and generally the road is narrow for 2 cars passing by...
