The Bosphorus Bridge, known officially as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and colloquially as the First Bridge, is the southernmost of the three suspension bridges spanning the Bosphorus strait in Istanbul, Turkey, thus connecting Europe and Asia. The bridge extends between Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi.

Facts: - One way, from Rusafa to Karkh - The old Baghdad in the early 20 century, had only this bridge - On Rusafa side, it leads to Al-Mustansriya Medrasa from the Abbasi Caliphate, and the old area of Alwarraqeen (those who write), which is converted to government offices during Ottoman period, then to Al-Mutanabi street during the Iraqi Kingdom period until now. It has a nice lanterns and view on both side of the bridge.

One of Baghdad’s most iconic bridges and one of the oldest as well, it connects Shawaka district in the Karkh side with the old square of Baghdad in the Rasafa side, it’s very beautiful but it needs maintenance and way more care than currently.

جسر الشهداء (جسر المأمون سابقاً) هو أحد الجسور الثلاثة عشر الواقعة على نهر دجلة في مدينة بغداد ، في عراقنا الحبيب يربط الجسر شارع حيفا و منطقة الشواكة في الكرخ غرباً بشارع الرشيد في الرصافة شرقاً ، بَنَت الجسر شركةُ هولواي براذرز الإنجليزية المحدودة "Holloway Brothers (London) Ltd" عام 1937، وأفتتح في 15 تموز 1939 # يعد أول جسر ثابت بُنيَ في بغداد على نهر دجلة # طول الجسر 219 متراً ، وعرض ممر المركبات 9 أمتار وعرض ممر المشاة 3 أمتار لكل جهة ، ومقتربات الجسر 55 متراً من كل جانب « بعد سنة 2003 أصبح استخدام الجسر باتجاه واحد للمرور القادم من جانب الرصافة باتجاه الكرخ » وكان قبل ذلك يوجد محله الجسر القديم والمبني على الدوب أزيل بعد بناءهِ وكان يسمى جسر الگطعة

جسر الشهداء او ما يعرف سابقاً بجسر المأمون قم بأنشائه الأنكليز أبان فترة احتلالهم العراق في سنة 1937 ويعتبر واحد من ثلاثة عشر جسر تربط الرصافة بالكرخ شطري بغداد بالتحديد الشواكة بالكرخ وشارع الرشيد بالرصافة. تم تغير اسم الجسر الى جسر الشهداء بعد قيام ثورة 1958 تخليداً للشهداء المنددين بأتفاقية بورت سموت. الجسر يطل على احياء بغداد القديمة والتي كانت بالأساس رموز لدويلات سابقة وكذلك وزارات ومفاصل مهمة تقلدتها كل من الدولة العثمانية والأنكليزية اثناء احتلالهم العراق. كذلك يوجد طائر النورس في المنطقة والذي يحبه الكثير من الناس ويأتون حصراً لمشاهدته في يوم الجمعة المزدحم.
