AD: Exploring the Northwest of Ireland, with @tourismireland and @tripadvisor 🍀✨ - Fly into Derry~Londonderry airport and pick up a car 🚗 - Drive about an hour west to Murderhole beach (I recommend coming here at low tide), Rosguill Peninsula and Ballymastocker Beach 🌊 - Head back towards Derry~Londonderry for the night - on the way back make sure to stop at Grianán of Aileach, for an incredibly well preserved fort and 360 views of the countryside. 🏰 - Drive 45 mins up to the Wild Alpaca Way and hang out with Alpacas!! 🦙🥹 - Whilst you’re up north make sure to check out Malin Head (where Star Wars was filmed), five finger strand and Kinnagoe Bay. Stop at Nancy’s Barn for a tasty lunch (they’re famous for their award winning chowder) 😋 - Head back to Derry~Londonderry for some city culture! Walk along the old city walls (from the 17th century!), admire the Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian architecture, walk over the peace bridge and watch the city turn to night. Then head to a pub for a pint and some live music! 🎶 Head to my stories (or my Island of Ireland story highlight), to read more about my trip and explore the Northwest of Ireland! Let me know if you go! 🍀 WHAT A PERFECT WEEKEND! ❤️🍻 #islandofireland . . . . #donegal #donegalireland #discoverireland #irelandgram #ireland_daily #northwestireland #derrylondonderry #alpacas #sheisnotlost #wearetravelgirls #femmetravel #travelinladies #girlsgoneglobal

A true gem! There are many beautiful beaches scattered throughout County Donegal, but this one is a cracker! Sand-dunes roll down onto an open expanse of golden sand, and rocky outcrops point their craggy fingers outwards to meet the Atlantic. Mountains rise and fall in the distance, while seabirds nosedive into the ocean in search of prey. This secluded beach is off the beaten track (so even when it is 'busy' you won't be tripping over too many fellow visitors) allowing you to kick back & soak up the atmosphere. Great for kids too as there are plenty of nooks and crannies and rock pools to explore. On a sunny day, you would be hard pushed to find a better beach anywhere. Absolutely gorgeous!

I visited few beaches in my life but that one is the most beautiful (murder hole either actually hard to choose between them).. View from the mountain to the beach when was raining down there and water was like green something incredible.. 😁 my family enjoyed either.. Everybody happy.. Worth almost 200km for me driving.. Next year definitely I'm gonna visit this place with family..

Beautiful and quiet. There's a secluded little cove area that's perfect for sitting with a book. There's bathroom facilities that are surprisingly clean and well-stocked. The beach itself is pretty clean and I didn't even run into any unlifted dog poop, which is a shock. Of course there's always someone who wants to ruin places like this and last time I was there I found a campsite that was littered with beer tins and crisp packets, but on the whole most seem to tidy up after themselves and even on sunny days this beach is relatively empty...

You'll pass a lot of other just as good if not better beach's in Donegal before coming to this one. On the plus side there's no height restrictions to the carpark, but camping and caravaning isn't aloud. You can't see the sea from the carpark because of the height of the sand dunes. When you do get onto the beach then there's is a nice view of the rocky mountains across the sea. There are toilets, but like most of the others in Donegal they are not...
