The Clare Glens are absolutely gorgeous. There are two walks signposted. One is a pleasant walk that takes you up the hill, looking down onto the River Clare and it's waterfalls. The other is a far more challenging one taking you through the glen, by the water.

Both are signposted. And both require some fitness and an ability to walk on uneven surfaces and uphill.

At the bottom of the trails, near the road bridge, you can follow another uneven pathway along by the river where you can see more waterfalls. This too requires a level of agility and ability to walk uphill.

It takes you out to the park in front of the car park.

The Clare Glens are well...

I have honestly never made it all the way up to the falls because of my hubby's health issues. But I love the left side of the Clare Glens walk (When looking at the start from the bridge) . The right side is quite an easy walk and very pretty. But the other side is more rustic and takes you right down along the river and on very rustic (and sometimes slippery if its been raining) fully immersed in nature path. I love it here and its free! Getting here can be a pain via Google maps from Limerick so just look up from Birdhill and you will get a far easier road if you are not used to...
