Enniscrone beach presents you with roughly 5km of golden sand. You might think that's an exaggeration, but it’s not. This beach is the real deal. And on the landward side the full length is defined by a series of sand dunes - some really massive (like the famous “Valley of Diamonds”) all creating a totally natural adventure playground. In season, life-guards cover defined swimming stretches; look out for the flags to make sure where and when. Full surfing, boogie-boarding, paddle boarding and kayaking are all very popular here. Various water sport schools offer daily lessons or summer camps for kids and/or parents. Remember, this is Ireland, not the Mediterranean, so it pays to invest in a wetsuit to keep you warm in the water. You don’t have to go mad in price these days - even Lidl sell them from time to time. The various surf schools will supply them with the lessons but it’s best to have your own to use whenever you want. Good luck and enjoy. This is a fabulous place.

One of the nicest seaside beaches in the whole country. With plenty of cafés and family adventures especially during peak season. The beach itself is amazing with what seems like miles of white sand, sand dunes with a good amount of wildlife on one side and the power of the North Atlantic ocean and its waves perfect for surfing 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️. It's also a very popular place for walking dogs. The pier on the end of the beach provides a great place for diving in and swimming 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️. It's also a great place for a spot of fishing 🎣 and is a good place to catch mackerel.

A walker's paradise. You can easily get your 10000 steps here should that be the goal. Vast. Clean. Sandy beach with scattering of shells and seagulls. Sand dunes. My kids both aged under 4 had a blast jumping in the waves, paddling and digging in the sand and were wiped afterwards. Where we parked was free. Near playground. However, playground was €4 per child. Great if you were there for hours not so great if you wanted a quick play of half an hour. Fabulous beach. Highly recommended and lifeguards on duty. Coffee van on beach but we didn't use.

Fabulous beach, with astounding views, particularly in the evening as the sun sets.

The beach has ample room, with two clear sections, divided by a stream on the shortest section.

Tons of free parking and the amenities surrounding it, make it even more pleasant.

During the winter it can be bleak and extremely cold, face biting way, with the wind whipping in off the open ocean.

During the summer, the life guard station is operational and provides a service within the flags boundary. There are public toilets at this location, with an outdoor shower.

There is a lovely playground at the back of the beach nearest the town side. Kitted out with various items of playground equipment, self contained and secure, so children can play without running off into traffic.

Traffic during the summer can be a challenge and ensuring children are safe at all times, would be a challenge. Plus ensuring all can be seen, given how busy it gets. Many a child has been lost on this beach, on a daily basis, understandably,...

A lovely place for a walk. With loads of free parking beside the beach And a lovely playground for the kiddies ( costs €1 per child ) this is a lovely place to kill a couple of hours. The beach itself is huge and never feels crowded and the sand is hard enough for easy walking. It has a lifeguard station but I’m not sure if it’s only manned during summertime. You get surfer and swimmers with plenty of room for both. I have taken my little one here a few times and with paddling the long walk and looking at the fossils in the rocks near the bath house we all had a lovely time. In the summer months a little ice cream shop is open and if it’s your thing it has lots of pubs close by also. All in all it’s a clean open space for family fun and I would...
