I love this place. The 9 hole is a good warm up if you ready yourself for the 18 hole challenge, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s as easy as the main course… it’s not!
The 18 holes of this course need good course management, and as the late Pro Charlie McGoldricks advice to any visitor would be “don’t hit the ball to where you can’t see it!” Stick with that and you’ll spend less time wandering around the rough!
For me, the last few holes are the most scenic, my favourite being the par 3 17th, strong winds (depending on which direction they blow) will dictate club selection and ball flight, some days an easy pitching wedge, other days a 5 iron into the wild Atlantic winds!
The recent facilities addition is a much needed driving range, automated card payment and several bays to practice from. Great for getting in a few release swings. Practice pitching and separate putting areas dotted around, handy to get your short game sharpened.
A must for any golf addict, and a test...
Read morearrieved in bad weather, on a Monday , resturant closed on Monday and Tuesday not a great start after driving 3 and 1/2 hours to get there, played the course but didnt know it , it was in good condition but lots of compleatly blind holes didnt have a clue where we were going, would have been helpfull when we were checking in to the proshop that they would have told us that there would be loads of blind tee shots with no idea of where we were driving to ,they could have recomended that we get a course manager which would have been very helpfull , i would recommend that the proshop should enquire of greenfees if they have played there before and advise them of the blind shots or tell them to get a course manager, when we came in i met a menber and i said it to him and he said yes we get that a lot from visitors but we tell them they should have got a caddy! very helpfull indeed, i think its a nice course but will...
Read moreOne can see how Enniscrone Golf Club is one of the top courses in Ireland. It's certainly the best course (The Dunes) that I have ever played. A superb Golf Links that offers a serious challenge to all golfers. There are a few blind shots here and there but this lends to the challenge. The Greens are large and sometimes tricky to get on and stay on but once achieved they offer a fair putting chance. There is a driving range, putting green and chipping green on site also. Set on the Atlantic Coast of the northwest of Ireland in Co.Sligo the views are to behold. The Clubhouse has modern dressing rooms and showing facilities. The restaurant offers excellent food and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. All in all a top class...
