A very unrealistically beautiful place in Dublin, Ireland. From the top of the hill there is a stunning and breathtaking view of the rocky coastline with a lighthouse. Howth Peninsula is where you can admire the lighthouse and cliffs of the peninsula. On the peaks there is a lot of greenery, flowers, bushes and many trails for walking around the peninsula. You can also go lower, closer to the lighthouse, but you will not be able to enter, since it is private property. Therefore, you can only admire it from the rocks. Every step of the way you will get wonderful photos. We got here by bus from Dublin, it took 40-50 minutes, we stopped at the stop closest to the lighthouse and walked. By the way, on the bus you could only pay in cash, and it was a problem to change money. The area is landscaped, there are toilets and signs. The weather when we went was excellent (it was summer), about 25 degrees. If you want to walk on the paths you should wear good shoes as the paths are not always smooth, some are muddy and some are rocky. As the terrain is a bit uneven and exposed, be very careful, especially with children. A very beautiful corner of the peninsula and definitely worth it. A breathtaking landscape with a lighthouse surrounded by green rocks and...

Baily Lighthouse is an iconic landmark that stands proudly on the rugged cliffs of Howth, Ireland. The lighthouse itself is a magnificent structure, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The panoramic views of the Irish Sea and the coastal landscape are simply mesmerizing. The lighthouse offers a glimpse into the maritime heritage of the region and serves as a beacon of light for ships navigating the treacherous waters. The surrounding trails and pathways provide an opportunity for delightful walks and hikes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the...

We hiked (walked) out here mid afternoon and it was very pleasant and easy. You can pick between several different distances for a total round trip and get some decent views along the way. Not too crowded especially once you get a few minutes in. Seems like most people start turning around pretty early!

Once you get to lighthouse, if you keep going, the rest of the trains (more or less) are around local driving roads so you won't have many good views for the...

It is a very windy place, so takes your precautions, and stay off the edges. It's obviously cold, especially If you are visiting in the winter months, but 'cold' is still an understatement. Even if it's midday and the sky is clear, you will need to have a thermal cold-proof, wind-proof jacket for the hike. Otherwise, the place offers a view of Dublin's coast and the background Wicklow mountains. The lighthouse itself is off-limits.

Amazing views - even when it’s cloudy! We took an Uber to the parking lot nearby instead of hiking. It was only a 5-10 minute walk to the cliffs and nearby the lighthouse. You can’t actually get close to the light house but it doesn’t really matter because the views are so breathtaking. Honestly one of the best things we’ve seen in Dublin, Ireland. It was well worth the trip!
