Fota Island — Attraction in Municipal District of Cobh

It's sort of worth the visit but you could definitely give it a miss. Not a lot of food locations, toilets etc. Very expensive and they also nab you on the way out by charging you €3 for parking in a bumpy field. If I had known that I would be driving my car on hardcore and into a muddy bumpy field, I would have taken the girlfriends jeep or the train. Dublin Zoo is significantly bigger and better than Fota. Things Dublin has that Fota is missing: Leopards, Hippocampus, Orangutans, Elephants, Gorillaz, Chimpanzees, Sea Lions, Flamingos, Wolf's and Crocodiles Fota does have kangaroos and wallabies, which Dublin Zoo doesn't have. Wonderful zoo to go to especially when weather was good. Due to covid ,the park is only working a one way system walk through but worth seeing the animals again. Great to see fota open once again. Booking system on line still required at fota in order to go in due to covid.worth going to and supporting fota .the zoo keepers work so hard for the animals...

Wouldn't recommend this place. Well. One visit will be more than enough. Pretty expensive. Even parking isn't free. Food for sale in the park is just awful. Few years ago there were a loads of animals walking. Now there is only a building spots everywhere. It might be good again when they will finish all the jobs but as for now not anymore...
