As an all year round swimmer, Duggerna Reef, Kilkee is one of my top 5 swimming spots in the country..Pollack Holes are part of this reef but the reef itself is a fascinating place to study all the sea life left here when the tide goes out..but bear in mind, it is tidal & attention must be paid to tide times & weather, also kids, who can't swim must be accompanied by an adult who can as some of the pools are...

This is the most wonderful place to swim. It's subject to the tides so check the tides before you go. It's probobly good from mid way through the falling tide through low tide and back to mid tide. When the tide falls the pollock holes are revealed on the reef at the West end of Kilkee. There are three holes of varying size but all ate delightful. Good for swimming and...

This is a beautiful place to swim especially when it is quiet. You might be lucky and spot little fish, crabs, sea urchins or starfish in the pools. You need to time your swim for 2 hours either side of low tide so that the Pollock Holes are exposed. Take care on wet days as the rocks can be very slippery. I'd recommend a visit to the Diamond Rocks Café afterwards...
