We had the most amazing day at Mayfield Bird of Prey! From the very start, Willie went out of his way to accommodate us, and his warm, friendly nature instantly made us feel at home.

My children, aged 5 and 2, were completely mesmerized. Willie has such a deep knowledge and genuine passion for these beautiful birds, and it really shows, not only in how he cares for them, but also in how much they clearly trust and adore him. The birds are so well looked after, happy, and thriving.

What made the visit truly special was how Willie was able to share his knowledge in a way that was engaging for adults while still being fun and easy to understand for little ones. It wasn’t just a visit, it was an immersive experience that left all of us in awe.

This experience exceeded all of my expectations! I thought we might get to spend an hour and hold one or two of the birds but my husband and I were there for two and a half hours! We received a lot of information about the various species of birds and learned how much work goes into properly training them. Then we got to play with Mikey the hawk outside which was amazing! After quite a while playing with him we went back in and we got to hold and interact with each of the owls. Willie is a fantastic host and obviously very passionate about his birds and makes sure they are in the best care. I highly recommend this experience! Called Mayfield Birds of prey on the Friday to see about getting a booking for the Saturday and Willie was very accommodating and booked me in for the couples experience and explained everything. From start to finish the experience was absolutely fantastic. Willie really knows his stuff and you could tell how passionate he was about all the birds. We got to learn about and hold several bird species including falcons, owls and hawks and also learned about the art of falconry itself which was fascinating. We then got to fly the hawk and have him land on our hands while wearing the falconry gloves.
